I might try and pop along and get a book while I'm there, I just ordered his autobiography too.

I tried to get tickets for the talk, but it was all sold out by the time I'd heard about it.

				SOD IT........!!!!!!  >:(

I've got tickets to see "Cirque du Soleil" mid-afternoon / early evening at the Royal Albert Hall as Lara has always wanted to see them.

I know where I'd rather be.

 Yes, same here.

I just realised I'm supposed to be going to a lecture at 6pm on Weds 23rd also... arghhh

I met him. I shook his hand. He signed my book. He was absolutely lovely!  8)

I was lucky enough to meet him at an exhibition / talk in the 80's when he was still working for Sunday Times. He was xtremely polite but he also came across as fairly battle-hardened. Difficult not to in his line of work. I am very jealous Suzi as, from the interview with Parkinson and the film that's on general release, he seems like a truly great man as well as an exceptional photographer.

He was quite laid back and charming the other night when I met him. I mentioned that I'd seen the film and really enjoyed it and he said, "Oh did you? I'm glad, although I've seen it twice and it's not really my thing" !! Ha ha.

His show opened today at the NGC in Ottawa for Canadian FWers:

Went to the (sell-out) meet the photographer event today, and seeing & hearing him talk about his work & life is something I'll remember for a long time.
Anyone who can travel to see this should probably do so.

 Dave.
