Hi all, a friend of mine just offered me a NPC 195 camera... It's actually from his family and he has no idea about polaroid film/cameras.
Anyway, long story short, he offered to me first but I have no clue how much this thing goes nowadays. I know they are not as costly as the 185 2000 but still cost a arm/leg.
I haven't seen the camera yet but was told everything is in good working condition. No case or box.
So what's a fair price?

I have heard of >$2K sold couple years ago in Japan. This is rare camera indeed, but optically no better than the interchangable Mamiya lenses on 600SE, which go for way less money. The advantage of 600SE is it also accepts 120 filmbacks. So I think it depends on how you want to treat this "investment". Since Fuji will stop their FP production some point in the future. This camera is destinted to be obsolete since it cannot take other type of film. A reversed case-in-point is the 690 which sold under $100 as "collector" item only, but shot up to $600 after TIP revived the film.

A few years ago I saw one for 600 U$D, in NYC so hard to say.

I have two 195s for shooting so the main purpose buying the npc 195 is for collecting. I have a load of fuji film stocked in my closet and I bought them when they were cheap...should be enough for me for a few years so I am not too worried.

Not sure if this helps, but there are two on ebay at present. One for $2K plus, the other just under $3K. A bit rich if you ask me.

Just keep in mind that just because that is what someone is trying to sell it for, it doesn't mean anyone is willing to pay that much! Those 195s on ebay have been there for awhile. i notice that ebay is in two camps, those that want to sell, and those that are willing to wait for the right sap to come along and pay douple what the item is probably worth. I'd say max they are probably worth $1200.

iirc b&H used, had one last year for a bit more than 1000. Was on there for at least two weeks before it sold.
