Title: Canon DSLR x Rolleicord
Post by: sapata on October 03, 2012, 02:51:00 PM
I wonder what would happen if this test was made with a 5D for example...

What makes me laugh is the tone in his voice when he gives the final verdict!
He sounds so disappointed that the low end Rollei performed better!

But the lens used has a major effect on the results. If he used a zoom, then fuzz is to be expected. But for a prime lens, results would be better.

As for the diff between the Rollei and a top Canon... I suspect results would be pretty darn close.

What the heck is 'pastelled'!?

pastelled=diluted colors due to the linear nature of sensors. Also caused by antialiasing filters and lack of precise focus which reduce contrast.

That's the problem with digital imagery; always something complex going on when you'd expect lack of focus to just cause plain old "blur".

Nothing to do with chewy, sugar coated sweets then?...

"The trees have all gone to pastel".

I'm thinking the Optician would diagnose cataracts.
