I'm quite enjoying Google+ the moment. Are there any other FWers using it, and do you want to be added to my photography circle? It seems a really easy way to share information.
-
I am newly joined on G+, still in doubts what the benefits really are... But connecting with other photogs might be really nice.
-
Yes, I am Leon. My profile: https://plus.google.com/109426048757669198524/posts
And I think you can publicly share a Circle, can't you? A Filmwasters Circle would be a great thing.

It certainly would Urban. Is this something that needs setting up? If so, do you know how?

Andrej, how do I find you? There are lots of Andrej K's on Google + :)

I haven't done it myself. But I think if you go to your list of circles in the left sidebar and the click on a circle there's a button to share it. I guess it will then appear in your Google+ activity stream and other people can subscribe to it.

Got you all... Now let me see what is it good for :-))
And thank you
-
Well, I am there also - I think I have found Leon ???
-
Sounds interesting.
My work's firewall is stopping me accessing this but I'll be checking it out when I get home.
-
There's only about one of me so should be easy to find.
It would actually be nice to find a purpose for G+
-
As a website, it's a bit odd, but as it is laid out in an android device, it suddenly makes sense. A bit like like the perfect blend between twitter and fb but without the nonsense.

My thoughts entirely when I joined up. I couldn't find a reason in the end, so I quit. I think that annoys me most about social networks is other people ;D ...and that really does limit my desire to get involved in them like I used to a few years ago.
I have found, however that's it's almost impossible to be in a band or make music without needing Facebook for booking gigs, arranging recording sessions, sorting out artwork and just generally schmoozing, so I have returned to that particular virtual Hellhole in a music-only capacity. I suppose it might make sense to try Google+ in a photo-only capacity??
The main reason I don't think I will however is because I already have an online community where I discuss photography....it's called Filmwasters. I guess on Google+ or whatever, there are no restrictions around digital photography and there will be a far wider user base/audience, but my concern is that anything interesting that you're discussing about trad photography on Google+....is one less interesting topic being discussed here.

... true in all you say Ed.
i did have a GENERAL bookface account and chopped it for a different
account dedicated to photography and motorcycles.
same for my twit account and my new google+ account.
i updated my web site recently and in the process I questioned why I
needed one?
it is certainly food for thought regarding the FW / social network argument ...
i think going forward we should "share" on FW as well as other places! where applicable
-
I have a google+ account, but rarely use it.
I also dropped Facebook (last year) because it was eating into too much of my free time, time that I now use to do more astronomy, and hang out at FW's.
-
I have been on google+ plus for some time..I will try to find those of you I don't already have.. I think mine is Diane Peterson..will check to make sure..but you will know its me by my little image of a girl wearing boots and a petticoat/black&white image

I have a google + account, but too much stuff to keep track of already.

I am reasonably active on G+ (Ordinal M.) and would of course be delighted should anyone add me - I post about a lot of different things though, photography only being one, and film photography only being a subset of one. Really, it has basically no group/community functionality. I suppose people could include a #filmwasters tag if there was something in a post that might be relevant.
eta: that's https://plus.google.com/u/0/115028534452717611417/posts

it seems to be a great place for sharing photos - lots of photogs on it of all colors (analogue and that other variety we don't speak of), AND, photogs are actively seeking each other out.

Done!
I have the same affliction with G+ (and Tumblr), but here I am:

I joined and am not quite sure what to do with it.
I guess this is me : https://plus.google.com/103209672706174718398/posts
It's not a very user friendly profile name is it!
-
I've joined - what is it? Looks like Facebook to me (only with a more stable share price ;)). I joined, it told me to "be Awesome" (what does it want me to do? invade Mongolia?) and a post about bar codes appeared on my screen.
I can't keep up with all these new ways to be ignored on line.

another "me too me too me too"
joined a while ago and still working out the best way to use it - anyway here I am

tried G+ and didn't like it that much then. almost glad that I didn't catch another internet bug that I needed to check on. and as Ed said, we already have the forum (tumblr, flickr and all things around it). but I think I'll join up just to know I have. if only to check that they haven't closed my account!! haha
but if you write upanything interesting over there, please reflect it to the forum for us that don't frequent G+, ok? :)

I am also on G+ at these random digits --> https://plus.google.com/117317749766391785422/posts (https://plus.google.com/117317749766391785422/posts)
I read about how photographers think this is the best thing since slice bread but I'm not yet convinced. But I am giving it a go for now.
