Having seen Ed's great shots from Albania, and anticipating his Morrocan ones, I wanted to share some recent photos from Rome. As I said in Ed's post, a holiday always helps me to think about the way I shoot. I have a new (old) Rolleicord which I have fallen in love with, expect more soon.

all three are special - my fav is the pyramid and the alternate presentation on your site is so powerful (path to heaven) 8) thanks for sharing.

All are wonderful, Janet.
But Love the pyramid shot!

Yes, the pyramid is heavenly!
More! More! :)

quite lovely.

Thanks guys, the pyramid is one of my favourites too - it's the most bizarre thing to come across in the middle of Rome, amidst all the columns and ruins.
AstroBeck - there's more on my Flickr stream if you want to see

search my tags for Rome.
It's nice to be posting here again. :)

Some minor Leon-esque work on the pyramid sky would really make it pop me thinks. Nice.

great stuff Janet. I too like the pyramid best. You've got to love those ol rolleicord lenses

Weird, how did I not know you were on Flickr? Hmmm. Have added you as a special chum....I know, I know, it's made your day ;)
Anyway, of these the first two I like, but the pyramid in particular is excellent. I think you could make more of it in the printing/scanning (I know you do both) stage though. It needs to leap out at me a bit more, but I love the contrast of textures between the stone and the sky.
Holidays are good for photo-ing aren't they.

I must admit my post-production skills are not so hotso - I'm better in the darkroom than the lightroom but even there my abilities are somewhat lacking :'(
I've signed up to do a darkroom workshop with Mike Crawford (via B&W mag) so I might take these negs along and see what magic he can work.
Glad you like the photos though.
Thanks
Janet
