Thought I would start the weekend early! This from a newly found "Sabre 620"...these were test shots and I am liking the results! ..generic black&white film.
-
Very atmospheric Diane ;D
Well, one more wet plate portrait from me, a tintype, and then I need to start tackling the rolls of film I brought back from China.. been putting it off...

I've built up a bit of a backlog and finally got some scanned. Some Portra and some Retro 80S, all shot either in the Exa or Exakta.
-
Ooooh, Terry... Love the second shot... All those crossed legs... ;)
-
I've been wasting Fuji instant films in preparation for a trip to England. Here are a couple of FP-3000B shots from a Crown Graphic. I'm trying to dial in the exposure and latitude of this stuff.

Well started, folks.

Greta start to the week again. Just love that wet-plate. Very tempting to try that one day. But on account of a healing hand after a small op, I've been coating paper with gelatine and Pot. Dichromate, then exposing and washing prior to me getting my hands on some litho ink :-)
But, I did find this developed roll of film.
Sometimes, shooting The Crofter once is not enough.

Another fab (and early) start to the weekend.
Diane - The first one has a wonderful timeless quality
Suzi - You just gotta sit back and admire these tintypes
Volker - A classy B&W
Jeff - Love the colours!
Poliweb - Wonderful detail and welcome to FW BTW!
Sandeha - Could have been taken back in the 60's not last month!
Having resisted the lure of a Holga for many years, mainly due to my love of pinhole, I finally relented and bought one. These are from my first roll so go easy on me all you plastic lens aficionados' . All taken on a trip to London. Film - HP5

Paul, I wish I had a holga like yours (mine is quite a dog - or otherwise I am completely useless :-) ).. Anyway, great images.
-
Paul, those are stunning. Holga loaded with redscale, multiple exposure. Tlayacapan in Mexico
-
wow great pics all, especially drawn to jeff's / terry's seated ladies / poliweb's / sandeha's vintage feel and Pauls amazing first holga shots.
2 more from me with portra 400, first roll through my new Bronica S2
Another of dad, shame he has his eyes half closed, and stella the dog, ready to chase something at the beach.
-
Wow, that was a quick and strong start of the weekend! :)
Paul, your Holga shots are simply beautiful, and I am not a fan of HOlga myself (maybe because I tried and failed miserably), though I guess I am becoming one :D
Poliweb, nice second one, I treat my fp3000b as 6400 ISO
Sandeha, that first rider looking great!
One from the Rolleiflex, shot at 2.8f with 1/60 it was already pretty dim light. Managed for little Alma to be seated for 1/60 ;D

Love the Holga shots Paul, I think the Holga is happy in your hands.
Little Alma is preciosa!
And she and I wear the same shoes, only mine are quite a bit larger!
Lovely start all!

Thank you for you nice comments Mike and Becky; yep, it´s fantastic to see little Alma growing bit by bit not only on real life but also through the camera :)
CJ, don´t despair, no pain no gain 8)

terry! that one with the girls made me laugh out loud haha. all those crossed legs and all attention on the smartphones. it's almost too much! like some weird flash mob or something :D
tintin: those leaks quite fit the subject matter. nice mood to these!
calbisu: that's.. just a great shot. kudos!
welp, while getting my bike home this evening I decided to pop by the darkroom and get my lith prints. here's those two that I succeded with getting something decent on the paper :)
first I think I put up last weekend, it's shot with my bronica C and some fomapan 200.
the second is a shaky holga shot with a close up lens and the old receipt trick over the flash~ shot on ilford pan f+

Great stuff everyone. Specially like Paul's Holga shots - they seem to get (even) better every time I look at them! And another great portrait Carlos.
Just finished my last 35mm roll from my April trip to the Brecon Beacons.

Damn! I turn my back for a minute and watch the Germans fall ass over tit and suddenly a weekend thread is started! Where to start? Paul, those Holga shots are just stunning, miller, digging it, but, feeling CJ's tumble - I knew there was a reason why I never tried skiing! jojonas, lovely. Fab stuff from one and all.

miller high five! love the shot! Everyones holga stuff is really inspirational. One day i will get one. Im on this instant kick for now. I'll look into the holgas in a couple months probably. I have to try this.
-
Thanks for all the great feedback on my Holga images... you've inspired me to try another film now!
Charles - the redscale has certainly accentuated the heat and dust
Chalky - love the connection!... dad with a pint and a dog called stella!!
Calbisu - an endearing portrait of innocence
Jojonas - that first lith is a corker!
Nick - you do do some very classy B&W work
Phil - I never tire of your images
Gary - hopefully my new Holga will develop light leaks as good as this!
Becky - wonderful colour! looks like a scene from Bonnie & Clyde!
Paul
-
Sandeha your shots are so joyous they make me happy!

Charles - just commented on this excellent image on flickr... one of my faves!
-
Carlos that's an amazing shot. And what's even more amazing is that Alma stayed there long enough. Athina can't hold still for more than a second ... Paul these are great! But now I have Leon's Coronet Commander so I guess I'll hold off on a Holga for a while (BTW, Leon it looks awesome with the new black leatherette :)).

cool tintype suzi! I'm getting quite taken by the look of this process~
diane, good moodfull shots~ interesting pattern going on in the sky. is that on the film? I got your postcard today btw. lovely! arrived safely :)
volker: liking how you included that black frame paired with a white boarder and the only faces with their front to the camera are the painted ones~
Quite agree about Suzi's wonderful new work!! very interesting..as far as my image that sky came right out of the camera..thinking this batch has scratches as a result of something in this old camera cause it was through the lot...not sure how to resolve this issue.!

Thank you Urban! It was a risky shot ;) because the low light I underdexposed 1-2 stops, and I prioritized having a minimum speed of 1/60 and risking with the swallow DoF. Then of course Alma would not stay still... but it went well! :) With the pentax 67 things get smoother and I can even risk some shots on the move, with the Rollei I have to take it easier.
-
Jonas, lith prints, when I will have a darkroom I will for sure have to try that, it really looks great and not too complicated :'(
Nick, always a classy
Becky, that Diana seems to be in loved with Ektar ;)

are you sure you want to resolve it?? haha~ could be just the thing for some shots, you know ;)
-
Yes, liths are good!
Anyway, tonight I resisted the urge to lith a couple of new negatives, instead I brushed off my brushes, so to speak, and tried to ink a couple of bromoil matrixes that I made yesterday.. Well, I have to say that it didn't go too well, but considering that this was my third attempt and one after almost two years pause I didn't call that too bad.. I'll try to show them tomorrow or the day after - tonight they would quite destroy the scanner, as the ink has to dry properly...

So much great stuff this week. Sandeha I love the first image of the girl with flowers in her hair. Oh wait, she's also naked. I like that too. Why can't we have naked bike rides in Philly? ;)
Paul, the Holga images are really nice, making me want to take mine for a walk.
Carlos, that was perfect timing - you got her right when her cuteness peaked. You must have known you nailed it when you pressed the button!

great stuff Peter, had a few holidays there as a Kid, good memories!

Jack- cool! Where did you finally find the payphone? Also I really like the transit of Venus shot too!
Magnus- you and infrared are meant to be together, love all the shots!
Diane- what kind of tin can did you make that 4 x 10 pinhole out of? You're getting good results from it.
Peter- echo what Phil said, that gull in the second one is fabulous. Perfect timing and love the angle of that roof! Wow!
Super weekend thread. I wish we could all just go on a roadtrip together-that would be so much fun!

absolutely! there should be a ten year anniversary meet up! :)

Becky, I used a very old (10 years) tin I found under my grandaughters bed!! It been filled with peppermint candies :)..at first I was hoping it was 5 inches tall so I could use 5x7 but then decided to try the 4x10 (8x10 paper) cut in half obviously! I do have to put tape around the lid cause I think it's been bent a bit so I get light leaks..prolly 6 inches focal length..
The second image was shot under less than ideal conditions..I knew it was way too bright out for the look I like but had to try it anyway.. and thank you both for the kind words..
-
Diane, Yay!! I love that first one! ;D
-
Diane, the first one is stunning!

Ja, ja, Diane, I just realized those are your friends!!! ;D

Thank you all so much!
I actually have a new "friend" that I just finished..she is very beautiful! I actually made two new ones, but one was a birthday gift for my daughter..She is "Freida kahlo!
-
Love them, Diane! And thanks, Jonas!
Jack- cool! Where did you finally find the payphone? Also I really like the transit of Venus shot too!
Thanks!
I kept scouring my brain for places where I knew I saw payphones in the past, and keep lurking in places where there would have been a phone: outside downtown bars, convenience stores, etc. There's a place locally that's off the beaten path that used to be a roller rink, I should check there, too.
This one is on the off-side of an old convenience store. I would be willing to bet that it's been disconnected and someone forgot to come remove it. But thanks to your postcard, it's now an obsession. :)
Super weekend thread. I wish we could all just go on a roadtrip together-that would be so much fun!
Absolutely! But Phil gets to drive. :)

Thanks guys, it was in my camera since last November – my last roll of Neopan 400. I've been shooting colour recently so the B&W roll stayed in my Rollei T all that time only to be developed last week-end.
Thanks again

Thank you guys. She was an exchange student that became part of the family, very nice girl. All I need now is to buy some paper similar to Agfa Portriga rapid (ivory base warm tone) I'm leaning to the Foma range. I have e-mailed her the shot. I will send her a print, a photo isn't real until it's printed (unless its a positive)
