Recently for a special birthday number, okay I turned 30 ;) my darling wife took me on a secret trip to Turkey which she had planned for the previous 8 months, so yes she is the best wife in the world ever!
She even organised some mates from London and some mates from Sydney to meet us in Goreme as a surpise! The following are some silly snaps of the boys being boys, wearing cowboy hats (They're coming back in man)
The tenuous link to this forum is the camera I am holding.

In further news the camera bag I have over my shoulder is a Kata DL-H-537 Hybrid D-Light Shoulder Bag (http://www.kata-bags.com/hybrid-537-dl-for-dslr-and-handycam-KTDL-H-537-B)
I picked it up off of Amazon for £25.00 just before we went away and it carried the C220 with 55mm, the 80mm in the same big compartment divided along with about 4 rolls of film In the separate compartment was the 135mm and my Sekonic L-308 lightmeter, not quite enough room for the spotmeter which I could have done with on a few occasions.
Overall this bag was very good for hiking around the hills and valleys of the Goreme UNESCO national park
Hopefully there is a keeper or two from the trip I can share on here.
Cheers

Yay! That was a real surprise and some serious logistics! Lovely wife you have :)

What?!
I never knew cowboy hats went out of style. :o
Looks like a fab trip, and yes your wife is very cool to do that for you!
Can't wait to see the pix!!!!

30? I'll soon be as old as you....!! :o
Fantastic thing to do for one's hubby - you must've been thrilled. On the hat front, I'm looking for a good quality Panama hat to accompany me to Morocco in July. Okay, a Fez might be more appropriate but they're just so "last Tuesday" style-wise!!
Cool shots matey.....

Ken, you're looking good for a 30 year old. And glad to see your sense of sartorial elegance is undiminished. Mind you, I'm not sure posing legs akimbo in a Turkish village square is a good idea - even with a cowboy hat!

If you're looking for the ultimate in travel head wear, I've got a Tilley cocoa brown hemp hat. I've had it for years and would call it indestructible. It's fungus proof, won't rot, very resistant, can be crumpled in a bag, stores flat, floats, has a place to hide a some papers, a sweat proof band. I know it won't make you look like Humphrey but it's darn convenient. Besides, it's one of the rare things still Made in Canada :)

She did very well, although all was nearly lost last weekend when Iw as tidying and cleaning the flat, she suggested I could sell some of my camera gear :o

Thanks Leon, I put the longevity of my good looks down to wallowing the fumes of ID-11, D-76, Perceptol and a bloody rugged tasting bit of bulk mix fixer.
