Did anyone else see the David Suchet documentary last night?
Quite entertaining, lots of M3 DS action too.
His images were quite good too.
He even managed to open the back of the camera without winding the film back into the cassette!

Great call Chops.
I saw it advertised the other evening and recorded it on the Sky box. Lara and I watched it tonight. Superb bit of telly and much respect to David Suchet for his skill and enthusiasm with the M3 DS. He was shooting a ballet class with Delta 3200 and the shots were superb. Must get round to using the 120 rolls of this film stored in my fridge.....
I've been a big fan of this guy since his portrayal of "Blott" in the TV adaptation of Tom Sharpe's "Blott on the Landscape".

Looks interesting. I recorded it to watch at the weekend.

I was actually quite moved when he got his Grandfather's photos exhibited. Great watch

This is a bit an*l I know did any body else think that the shutter sound was dubbed on? It didn't sound like a Leica 'blind' to me. Interesting prog though.

I can't say I noticed - but I did keep the recording for viewing again somewhere down the line. The double stroke wind sound seemed "legit" and I would be extremely surprised if anyone cared sufficiently to dub a fake shutter sound into a documentary.

Silly me! Turns out my wife has recorded it for me already. Something to look forward to.

Watched this last night.
David's emotion when seeing the contact sheets for this first time, illustrates to me one of the wonders of using film. You take the picture know that you potentially have a good picture but never know how successful you've been until the negatives are developed.
Chops thanks for posting this.

Forgive me - I'm 50+ and a grumpy old so and so, but I try to resist this sort of thing. There are hundreds and hudreds, if not thousands of great photographers out there who deserve a TV programme to be made about them. But no, if we are going to have anything about such a subject, its got to be driven by some celebrity or other, whatever their status or worthiness. Drives me nuts - as you can see ::)

I don't disagree, but this programme wasn't really about David Suchet. It was about his grandfather, James Jarche, seen through his grandson's eyes.
