I've had a busy day happily developing film - well, not quite: looks like a film spiral loading malfunction has cost me a few frames but most are salvageable from that one film....
Anyhoo, here's my first contribution - a cliff-face of old fishing ropes. Harman Titan, FP4+, Prescysol.
-
Nice!
Don't you love love that pinhole!!!
Can't wait to see the other's results of the day.
-
Wonderful!!
-
Will develop my films tomorrow, but for now here a few polaroids.
Nick
-
Really like that first one Nick.
Looks like I still have a bit of a light leak on my modded Holga Pan but here's a couple of quick scans from the first batch. I still have more to dev and some colour that'll have to be sent off to be done.

That light really was harsh wasn't it?
-
Great work, guys! Looks like I missed a fab day - can't wait to see more results.
-
Ditto - That second one Nick is grand.
-
Finally got round to developing the first roll. Scanning not up to much, but they give a flavour.

Processed in Tetenal C41 and scanned on a flatbed with a laptop.

This stream is a delight!!! Love the tones in the nets, Vidwatts! Nick Moys - that first polaroid is my uber-fave!! Peter, I love the tipsy beach shacks! And Mark - I LOVE the entire set, together! Such fabulous color you got from the Tetenal!!
-
I just hope that mine match up to what's been posted so far, superb images everyone.
Paul
-
great stuff everyone. Really great. And Peter, light leaks aside, these shots from the modified holga are superb! What a brilliant way to get into the MF long pano format - the quality on these is superb.

Lovely stuff, its interesting to see everyone's different visions.

I think I've found the leak. It's always been there, it just took the bright sunshine of Saturday to show it up. Shame it only showed up then though.
Here's a few more. Some with the leak showing.

Busy, busy bees. How many of you took mobile darkrooms with you? ;)

Lovely picture all round, everybody and impressed with the turn round.

this thread is a delight to scroll through. specially viewing the same place through different eyes/lenses.
I'm a fan of your stuff, mark.
are there any previous threads like this one in the forum? it'd be interesting to give a look :)
-
Thanks jonas, ann and everyone. I had a fun time, first time I'd ever had a photographic 'get together.'
I too am interested in everyone's style and interpretation of Southwold–it's a great place.
I especially like Nick's Polaroids as I actually got to hold them on the day, and Peters Schneider edition Holga was inventive and clever, those panoramic shots have a nice tone.
I'd like to see Paul and Leons™ work too....
Regards to all

I'd like to see [...] Leons™ work too....
Give me a chance! I'm hoping to dev some negs on Friday ... we'll see if they actually materialise though.
-
Some stunning images posted so far and, as mentioned earlier, it's amazing to see how differently we view the same place.
I've sent 4 rolls of 120 Tri-X off to be processed today. They should be back tomorrow and, hopefully, I will get to do a bit of scanning before departing for Dorset (on business, sadly) on Thursday morning - back late Friday. If not, I'll post at the weekend.
-
Good things come to those who wait... ;D
-
Fantastic set of posts so far but, no doubt, some excellent work still to come.
I've got my negs back from the lab and have had time to scan just 3 frames out of the 40. Mamiya 7, 65mm lens, Kodak Tri-X 400. Sepia tone courtesy of Silver Efex Pro + sharpening / dust removal in PS CS3. Here goes:
-
Nice sets of photos so far!
Sure wish I could have been there...sigh...one day, one day.
Looks like it was big fun for all! :)
-
Yeah, me too....................
-
Great stuff all round - and we still have the Arena Photographers' shots to come! ;)
A few more from me - all shot with Rolleicord Vb on FP4+ developed in Moersch Finol.
-
Two sets of superb images from Paul & Nick. What I really like about these FW outings (this was my 4th!) is that everyone has their own individual style and because everyone uses film each image has its own unique characteristics. I just look forward to the next!
Paul
P.S. - Have just had my films posted back so should add some of mine to the mix in the next few days
-
To be getting on with here's one of my favourite colour pinholes I took a couple of years ago

Love that pinhole shot Paul, looks a bit like Provia? if it is slide film then the brightness range record is heroic! You certainly have mastered the 'free lens' :D
Nick and late developer, also enjoying your images too I had a Vb once the lenses have that wonderful lowish contrast sharpness.

Just checked and it was Provia! well spotted
Had Ektar loaded in the Zero on Saturday... just had an initial quick look at my negs and there may be some keepers!
-
This thread is shaping up beautifully. Great work by all.
-
One of my my first shots from that day...
-
And a few more with the Hasselblad on Ektar and Provia 100F

Thanks Phil. That's the first time I've used Ektar and you are right - I love it.
-
a couple from me - I haven't dev'd the pinhole sheets yet .... hope to tomorrow.
First a shot from dawn with the sunrising to the left side of the pier:

Second some huts (it would have been rude not to):

Great stuff, Leon.

Great stuff, Leon.
Wot Phil said!
Well here are the first of my efforts...
I very much intended to meet Leon at the Pier for dawn but driving past the estuary at Blythburgh I had to stop and record the wonderful mist clinging to these old river markers
(http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7062/6885857218_27cf415d96_z.jpg)
I then had to make another stop a few miles further on to record this...
I finally arrived in Southwold about 7am and soon tracked down Leon who was down by the boating lake and spotted this.
These are the small paddle boats at the boating lake in Southwold. As a child my wife would peddle these around the small lake in the summer holidays. For some reason were fondly called flunkerbunkers, don't know why but the name stuck!
All three taken on my Bronica SQAi with Acros and Velvia
Got some pinholes to post later
Paul
-
Lovely stuff, Paul. Bring on the pinholes ;D
-
I keep coming back to Leon's beach-hut-among-huts, and Peter's Sole Bay Company.
-
Hey guys those pinholes are great! Dawn photography is wonderful I always like the calm feeling of images taken at that time.
My fave though is the primary colour paddle boats.

Finally getting round to working on the rest of last weekend's photos: here's some taken on Adox CHS 50 on a Fuji GA645i, developed in Prescysol. Must say I found this film to be the very curliest ever - it was flattened all week between heavy books and still hadn't relaxed in the slightest. It was a real challenge getting them into the scanning holders.
nb loving all the photos so far from everyone else!
-
Ooh love the tarpaulin!

Vidwatts, I love the guy reading the paper!
Paul, these are stunning. The first and last are my favourites, but, that is just being picky!
-
Paul, the pinholes are all stunning.
Vidwatts, like the beach huts shots, yet another perspective, but all with the essence of Southwold. Tried something similar to your last shot myself, but the tarpaulin in yours certainly adds something extra.
-
Paul!
My oh my!
That last hut photo with the beach grass is wonderful.
I like the post with the limpets too. The grain and texture of the post is to die for.
It's one of your best so far.
Lovely stuff all. It would be really nice to see all of it hanging in a gallery!
Thumbs up guys! :)

The first one again... love what you've done with those pesky contrails
-
great stuff Peter - and everyone else too.
I developed my pinhole shots yesterday. I think I've suffered a hit of the poor QC in eastern european films! Either that or something I've done has resulted in this .... I have to say i haven't ever suffered anything quite like it before in 11 years of developing my own films, and definitely didn't do anything different. I have some more sheets to develop tomorrow, so if the same, I'm asking for some cash back!!!!
I quite like the effect though :)
-
Very nice, Leon. Even if it was a surprise.
-
thanks Phil - I've narrowed it down to user error - more film dev'd today with no real issue. I reckon it's dichroic fog ... that'll learn me for not using a proper stop bath. Mind you, I've not used one for years and had no problems so far.
-
Another couple from the FW Southwold trip.

Had a few random 35mm shots left from the meet up that didn't quite work on their own ??? so.....
