Finally managed to develop a roll of black and white! Arax 88, 30mm Arsat fisheye, Fomapan 400 (thanks LD), Rodinal 1:100, not totally even development ;)
Again in the little village Sainte-Marie-du-Mont in the French Alps.

Oooohh, that looks cold. What a contrast. We have had two sand storms in a row down here. It looks funny as then the sky seems to be cloudy, of course there is no more than billions of ultrafine dust particles fighting to get inside the camera >:(
Two more portraits, this time group portraits. The one in the tuk-tuk I remember pretty well. I spent many hours walking and travelling around khartoum, dusty, hot, dusty and hooot, but very few shots.

Looks like you need some water.

Love 'em all so far but Calbisu's first is a beauty. Love the expressions on the faces of those chaps....
Mine are from last weekend spent in Dent and Hardraw (the waterfall shots) in the Yorkshire Dales:

We had the pleasure of Graham's (Wensleydale Blue) company the day after these were taken. Some of what we shot with Graham next week. The last one in this series was a bit of a mistake - end of a roll that got chewed (somehow) but I still like it for all its imperfections.
All taken on Ilford XP2 Super using Hasselblad 500c/m.
-
A couple of oldies. Holga and xpro'd Ektachrome.
Sandeha - lovely image.
-
There's something about the last shot charlesbinns, the tones are really beautiful...
-
I was sorting my negs from last year and came across this portrait.
I don't do a lot of these, but this one just had such great tones I think it was worth scanning.
Nikon F5 with Acros 100 (shot at 200), developed in Diafine.
-
Like that shot Keith--great attitude. I've rediscovered how much I like Acros too. Shot this on my Ikoflex yesterday--I set it on a tabletop and exposed at 1/30 and f/5.6. Souped it today in RO9 at 1:50.
-
Hi all,
I got a Hasselblad a few weeks ago and so now I'm just experimenting with it. This is a scene near my house in Philly.
I like the camera a lot.

A great start as usual......................
My shot of a shepherd's hut was captured on a recent visit to Sechlabathebe National Park in Lesotho.
Handmade 6x6 pinhole camera with Fuji Acros developed in Caffenol.
Have a great film wasting weekend!

A rather splendid start from all, but Terry's shot is absolutely fantastic!

Great stuff from everyone and it's not even 9am yet.
Loving all the b&w..
Another of the Ally Pally deer from me.

Hello again everyone. There are some great shots here already (as expected from such a talented bunch of wasters ;) ). I'm digging way back into the archives for my addition to the thread as I've recently been asked to scan some of my old band photos from back in the day. This one is of Ian at the wheel of the van in 1989, driving from DC to Chapel Hill, NC for Fugazi's first ever out of town gig. Very happy memories of these couple of days.
It was shot on an incredibly cheapo plastic camera; all I can remember is that it was bright red....and really, really rubbish (but not in a good way...in a bad way!). This was scanned from the original drug store print and then brought back to life contrast-wise via P'shop.

And a bit more from me. This time shots from the first roll of my Kodak Brownie Hawkeye (restored by Randy Smith). Amazing how nothing is in focus!
-
all I can saw is WOW! beautiful stuff..a great weekend!
Mine from my Nikon N8008 and generic black & white.
-
Holy wow - there're so many compelling shots!
I particularly like SprayNPray's top pic - the way an already beautiful shape gets abstracted by the depth of focus and the eye gets drawn. Wonderful.
-
another from today..3 1/2 hour exposure ..could have gone a bit longer but I had an appointment..this is so much fun!! I love pinholes! :)
-
You is on fire Mr. Urban !
-
Thanks Miles! This might not be my last contribution for this weekend ...
-
Cool pinhole Diane...was that on paper?
-
Yes Becky, on paper...

At a very first glance while scrolling down the pages I thought it was a cityscape shot with a UFO in the sky! :D
Lovely shot Diane...

funny!! :) :) Thank you Sapata!

Yes! Diane, that living room shot is great. It's good to see a pinhole taken inside rather than outside for a change. I messed around with indoor pinholes for a while, but never got anything as good as yours.
-
Thank you Ed. ! when you get past the fact that it is going to prolly takes hours of exposure and just deal with it, it becomes a lot of fun!! I am so sick of snow that it just isn't any fun to go out and try despertly to find something that isn't covered with white!!
-

Welcome to my world... though I already saw a red robin and the seagulls have arrived... Patches of grass are showing through the snow... Y-E-S!

When I was about 14 I had a summer job moving boxes at a friend's father's business, he was something to do with Hasselblad distribution in the UK. He told me the story about it being the camera taken to the moon. Ever since I've hankered after one, but I've never felt I could justify it.
Well I've finally bitten the bullet and at the moment we're circling each other, each not quite sure what to make of the other. Apart from the fact it takes me about 10 mins to take a shot, and weighs as much as a small car, I love it.
These are from my first test roll.

Ok, there are some weekends that are special and I think this is one of them. Keith´s (so classy), Ed´s (fantastic), Terry´s (I love portraits), Diane´s first Pinhole and Nigel´s second one (that could even pass as a Rolleiflex one ;D) are my favorites so far..
Well some people complain about the snow and I complain about the sand and dust... :D
Two Polas 108, from our weekend in the desert, a sand dune and beautiful Elena ;D. Little Alma rode a camel for first time! And that was cool : ) On our way back to Khartoum we were hit by a sand storm that traveled with us all the way back (250Km...)

Nigel, that picture with the wingtip shoes is killer..All I can say is I would have a print of that on my walls in a heartbeat!! So happy for you to get this camera... :)

Thanks, Diane! When I get around to it I'll send you one. :)

Diane, great shot! What was your paper/developer?
-
Keith...the paper is ADOX MCP 312..premium matt-satin..I think it is the least expensive paper I have (about $35.00 (?)for a box of 100 5x7's...and I am really liking it..I use Dectol to develope my paper..just haven't tried anything else so far..
Now, I am not sure what astrobeck or Britt use..but I think Britt uses caffenol..
-
Wow Nigel..that would be wonderful..no hurry but it will be given a place of importance when it arrives..!! :) :)
-
Lovely stuff everyone! This is shaping up to be an excellent weekend thread :)
Went hiking with my cousin a few weekends ago in the Mountains near the coast in Malibu. The Ray Miller Trail to Pt Mugu. Took along my Zeiss Ikon ZM and Fuji GF670 with rolls of Velvia. Gotta love the Velvia :)
-
Nigel... these are fantastic!
-
while on the subject of pinholes...Paul Mitchell's work always overwelmes me..The image of the little beach houses (?) are breathtaking..as all his pinholes are..the tones in this one are so beautiful!

ran a roll of ektar through my agfa cadet b-2 box camera. it likes to overexpose but first time i've run color film through. heck, i don't even think i've used it for a couple years...
-
Sean- I hope we get to see more from the Salton Sea!
I wanted to go there this past December but never made it out of the Mojave Desert Preserve. :)
The Ektar seems well suited for that Agfa Cadet. :)
-
admiral.asthma: love that train shot!
Broke out the 'ol Golden Half last week.
-
16mm, fantastic, love´em all!
-
Mr Asthma I concur the Maersk shot is soooo lo-fi...
-
Mickey & Minnie : Smena 8... (The same shot is in the thread)
-
So much good stuff this weekend. Great pinhole work.
Following the intro of the Harman 8x10 and subject discussions elsewhere decided to put up some 8x10's this week, now just need the enlarger in place.
-
These last three flower images are great!!
Astrobeck..what paper are you using now..anything in particuair or?????
Miller, that shot is killer good!!
-
Finally! I finished the roll I started last September in the Half frame!
It's unbelievably painful to have to wait so long for the roll to end!
So, here's a miscellaneous from fall and winter.
-
And a bit more
-
These are great!! Love the progression..And even Mr. Potatohead..how cool!!
-
I had to go into the industrial park and I saw the Hasbro head office. I peeked through the door and saw him. Click. :)
-
Love the progression
Me too - Francois's pics show a real journey - countryside through suburbs to city then Mr Potato Head as a bonus feature at the end (like the silver thu'penny piece hidden in the christmas pudding).
-
Great stuff everyone. Nigel, you're doing great with your new love! ;)
And another one from me. Roll three from this weekend. This time from the first roll through my Holga WPC that I shot last WPPD (yes, almost a year ago). I went out at dusk without a light meter and seriously underestimated the exposure time. Also there's drying marks on the negative. Oh well, hopefully the next rolls will be better :)
-
more time in the darkroom lately and less time behind a camera, but here's a recent shot using 100c Silk that I'm happy with ;-)
-
Love the black Gull Dynamo.
-
Steve, those 8x10s are just stunning.
-
Thanks Late developer, have to say I am getting hooked on 8x10, looking at such a big viewfinder is wonderful!

Can't pick a favourit this weekend, so many great pics.
I have, like Urban Hafner, a "new" Brownie Hawkeye modified by Randy at Holgamods. The frontplate is in a lovely red colour, so ofcourse, it is a Reddie now :)
Went to Gothenburg this weekend and shot the first rolls, and I think I am in love with this little baby.
-
Nice shots Britt! The reversed lens seems to work for you. I received my Hawkeye with a reversed lens by accident :) I'll have to try again now that I've flipped the lens back.

Thank you Urban. I love the flipped lens, think that is great. Just as I ordered it ;D You don't whant that? I think your pics are wonderful!

Great stuff as usual. My faves this week are charlesbinns, gregor, ed's thumbs up shot, diane's living room, admiral.asthma's cargo train and stevegz's flowers.
I kept on running into geese and swans this weekend.
-

Thanks Britt! I'm not sure about the lens, yet. I'll have to give it a try the "right" way around. Maybe I'll flip it back (it's easy enough to do).

Three terrific images Peter... I think I know where the first one is too!
I've still yet to see the Hockney exhibition so am going to reserve judgement until I've seen it in the flesh. It's certainly going to interesting for me as I grew up in East Yorkshire not a mile away from where he painted most of his new images.

Beautiful images Peter..so much personality..
and Miles..loving those dogs..!!

Stunning work Peter ! The grey tones are fantastic as well the subjects...

You know where they were all taken Paul. All within a few yards of each other.

It was worth going but I was in London anyway. Not sure I would have made it otherwise. I went Friday afternoon and had to queue for an hour to get in. Apparantly it's quieter in the evenings.

Beautiful, Peter. I don't remember seeing many of your shots cropped to square but the tones and the way you've presented these shots is spectacular.
Still using the XP2 Super? I've become quite an avid fan of it as well - although I seem to be getting higher contrast. Maybe that's just down to the light or the way I'm scanning / processing. You should run some master-classes in how to post-produce images like these. I'd sign up in a flash....

yes, these are really nice Peter. I'm especially fond of the last one.

I'm not quite sure how they all work. I've used webex before but is it free?

Thanks for all the positive comments everyone.
Beautiful, Peter. I don't remember seeing many of your shots cropped to square but the tones and the way you've presented these shots is spectacular.
Yes, the first one I decided needed to be square when I shot it. The other two I just cropped to what I felt like. The second one I re-cropped to my usual 2x1 for my Ridgeway group on Flickr.

Yes, still XP2. Some difference maybe in that I process it in Aculux. I assume you're getting it done in C41 are you? As for post, these three had minimum done to them - even less than I normally do, which isn't much.

I've used both but only ever on a one to one basis.
If anyone's interested, I could write up what I do, it really isn't a lot, and post it on here or somewhere anyone can see it.

Hiya Chops.
I've genuinely no idea when it comes to Skype and webinars. I was actually thinking more of a "special edition FW podcast" on the subject. I doubt there's few absolute rights or wrongs when it comes to scanning (for the most part at least) but some pointers on how to achieve optimum tonal separation, sharpness, low (or high) grain and that sort of thing would be really helpful. Aside from some really good tips that have been passed along through Filmwasters threads, it's been trial and (a lot of) error for me.
Get rid of the M6? Well, I'll stick to my promise that if I ever do (and that is very unlikely) you will be given first dibs.

I just did a bit of searching and there is no p2p video conference software that supports multiple users without having a dedicated server. The simplest free way to do it is to install Big Blue Button on a server... not an option I fear.
Skype would work but there needs to be at least one premium user in the group. :-\

Google Hangout+ does, for free (at least for now). I use it for staff meetings at work all the time, and I keep seeing posts online where people have recorded it somehow. I think it has a 10- or 12-person maximum.
