That's some colour guys, here's a drop a B/W with Lil CJ after a session on the wheels of steel...
-
Miller, that is a beauty!
-
Nice colour work guys. Miller, that is a wonderful image. My boys have had their eye on that TDF shirt for a while! What camera/film did you use?
-
Seems like the happiness thread is rubbing off, some real zingy colour kicking off this weekend. A little seasonal still life from me courtesy of the plum tree. Portra on the F1N.
-
Did a bit of wandering around just north of Phoenix this week. Was hoping to shoot some rain, but it mostly cleared up as soon as I got to where I was going...Bronica with 45mm lens and self-developed Ektar.
-
Just received back a roll from the Darkroom in Cheltenham today and scanned four. Two from a Rolleiflex 621 and two from a Fuji GS645S.

Fuji 160NS always somehow reminds me to stick to black and white.
.
.
I like plums and those look tasty.

Cool Cosmetics store ;D
Nice one of the boy Mr. Miller.
Couple on Leg Pro with a Chinon CE-4
-
Great photos! I am headed to San Francisco for the weekend with the family, and I was inspired by Miles to take my Chinon CM-4. It's fairly light and small for an SLR. I doubt my shots will come out anywhere near as good as his, though.
My shot is from last week at my in-laws' place. Pentax KX with a K series 50/1.4.

-
Love the landscape shots, Sandeha, especially the first.
Nice plums Harvey (that doesn't sound right!)
Nick
-
I'm liking the color landscapes thus far but Miles' b&w portraits are magical. Karl's make me want to shoot some Fuji color stock--I'm looking for one I like as well as Portra NC. Sigh. Well, here are a couple I shot on new Portra last weekend. Shot with the Diane Peterson memorial Pentacon Six, which I love no matter what film is in it...
-
Miller - Fantastic portrait, it has such a vintage air, really like it! :o
Harvey - Like a painting
Miles - Beautiful shots, nicely made
-
I went to Rizal Park in Manila last weekend. Spent some really good time talking with the People and wasting some film, so many real characters over there. And people were really nice and let me took some portraits ;D
These two taken with the Rollei and Tmax 400, light conditions were really poor and I had to shoot against back light subjects, it would have been a bit too much to tell people to move.. :P
-
great portraits from rizal park, Carlos. I haven't visited that part of the city for a long time but glad to see that people warmed up to you. We ought to shoot some time before you relocate.
Anyhow, here are my colorful share shot with an Canon AT-1 and Kodak Colorplus film.
-
rpmdrd - It's a nice feeling to find out that there is another filmwaster around :) Here is my phone number 0917 5765961 if you text me I will try to text you whenever I go shooting next weeks (might prove difficult but we try anyway!) By the way, do you develop yourself, if so, where do you buy chems, in Quiapo, Hidalgo street, or there is somewhere else nearby Makati...?
Canon AT-1 that's a great camera, I really cherish my Canon A1, kind of big brother to the AT-1 ;D That color plus looks like a nice filme indeed
-
Lovely shots again :)
Miller - great vintage looking shot, I'm off to Tuscany (with Andrea and co.) to ride L'eroica (http://www.eroica-ciclismo.it/english/home.asp) at the end of this month.
Harvey -dare I repeat it? 'Lovely plums'
Some taken at Glasgow Botanical Gardens using the Holga 120N and Fomapan 100 developed in Aculux

Wow the quality is raised exponentially every weekend ;D Happy shooting for everyone!
My favorite this week so far is Harvey's plum tree. Great concept mate.
Here are 2 of my own from a series I will be posting to the photo essay forum in the near future. :)
-
Cool Pics and Kind words, perfect for a Friday.
Nice Cactus and Botanicals ;D
Soap's last two are excellent. Love that cold feel to them. Makes be think of a 1950's school text book. ;D ;D ;D
-
Lil CJ says thanks for the comments, especially as he will take part in his first race with Lea Valley Cycling Club under 8's tomorrow.
The shot is SX70 with some experimental PX100 flash film which has a strange dark tone. IP were doing 6 packs for under £30.00 so I got drawn in.
Windy, lucky you and Andrea... Viewed some past events and it looks great... Time I got the bits on my restored Harry Quinn frame methinks...

Karl - I had most of the Contax G gear until a year ago. That 45mm lens is the one I miss most. Great shots.
Miles - I especially like the first image of the little one. She's enjoying herself :-)
Soap - "one" is fantastic. Just the right posture for the scene.
This week I have only a public service announcement. A few weeks back I recommended using self-adhesive flocking inside cameras that suffer from low contrast due to internal reflections, like my Yashica. Well I've removed mine. The stuff apparently started to shed, and I guess film must have a slight static charge because the hairy evidence was all over my negs. :-) Anyway the stuff is gone now and I'm forcing the contrast issue by exposing Tri-X at 1600. My kid is back at school, whistling while doing his math.
Cheers,
Jeff

Beautiful work this week! and Harvey...that is an incredible piece of art!!
Mine from a recently acquired Canon A...I think it was kodak 200 film..
-
Lil CJ says thanks for the comments, especially as he will take part in his first race with Lea Valley Cycling Club under 8's tomorrow.
Good luck little CJ :)
-
My kid is back at school, whistling while doing his math.
Whistling is rarely heard these days. I do like me a bit of whistling! Love the photo.
-
Jeff, love the little whistler.
My hubby whistles, I can always find him in the home improvement stores by listening for him. :)
my photo for the weekend is a Crown Graphic with Fuji FP100
of some wild "nodding onions" in our back lot.
-
Lil CJ says thanks for the comments, especially as he will take part in his first race with Lea Valley Cycling Club under 8's tomorrow.
Good luck little CJ :)
Yep, good luck from an old cycling coach too. [The secret is; and ONLY tell CJ this, is to go faster than the others and look cool. Sir Chris Hoy told me that ;) )
An old snap from about 1999 when Chris was a mere boy, a lot slimmer and already a lovely man. For CJ.
-
Yet another great thread and some particularly nice colour shots. Particular kudos to:
- Miller. The shot of CJ is just stunning. Very antique look to it.
- Harvey's plums - look delicious.
- Sandeha's Fuji 645 shots. Amazing colours and sharpness.
- Rkbry's spikey shot is a beaut.
- Calbisu. Two shots I would dearly love to have taken.
- Soap. Your second is just wonderfully atmospheric.
My efforts this week were taken last Sunday at Leigh-on-Sea on the Thames mud-front where it meets the North Sea, just east of Canvey Island. Old Leigh is a great little village full of cockle sheds and over-priced, trendy fish restaurants. There are a number of great little corners. Film is Ilford HP5+ shot via R3 Mot/50mm Summicron-R. Processed / sharpened via CS3 and sepia tone added using Silver Efex Pro.

would send you a message within the week, I might be free this next weekend. I really would want to develop myself and its one of my goals before the year ends. Hidalgo seems to all the chems needed, there is a store called Columbia in Cubao, Quezon City that sell chems as well but not really familiar what stuff they have. I have a Canon A-1 here that I have not tested yet, it has the squeal/squeak.
anyhow, great images from everyone, cheers.

Mr Hookstrapped, do Motels still really look like that in the States. impressive.
Late D that 3rd shot with the bike is my fav of anything you've posted thus far.
-
Haven't contributed anything (verbal or visual) for ages, have been so busy and it's been a matter of 'make hay while the sun shines'. Hopefully things have calmed down a bit and I can start contributing a bit more.
What I love about this weekly thread is the quality and huge variety of images posted. And the fact that it isn't a competition and they're not being offered up for critique, they're just being posted so everyone else can enjoy them.
A few images that have caught my eye and deserve recognition this week are...
Harvey - excellent image and great potential for a series
calbisu - two beautiful images but no. 2 has the X factor
Diane - classy image and amazing colour palette
Paul (LD) - your third image is a corker, could have been taken in the 70's
Hookstrapped - wish I had half your talent!
Here are a few Large Format images taken on a trip to West Wittering in May and only have just scanned... my pile of un-scanned images never seems to go down!

Peter, another great series of photos. They just get better and better.
Paul, I love the grasses, super.
-
I also love the grasses, Paul. And Diane's shot is wonderful.
BTW, my shots were Ektachrome E100VS cross-processed in C41. It's the first time I ever cross-processed -- I also have some regular E6 processed rolls from that shoot that I don't have back yet. I'll see which works best. The color shifts aren't too crazy, which is what I was hoping for. Overexposed 1 1/3 stops.
The motel was way out on eastern Long Island, a trip back to 1962 or thereabouts.
-
Life is pretty quiet and uneventful in rural Norfolk, but today the Tour of Britain cycle race came through our village - a pretty big deal in these parts, especially for a cycling fan.
At this point the peloton was chasing a break away group 5 minutes further up the road.
-
Terrific variety again this week. Particular favs for me are Paul's large format landscapes and Diane's cabin - lovely colours.
A random selection from me from the latest roll of APX100 with the Bessa R2M.

Happiness all around. Love Sean's cactus and Terry's negative space.
Technically from last weekend, but didn't get it posted until Monday. Hoping to have a bit more this evening.
I need to shoot with this camera a bit more. Cooke triplet lens, and I always like the slow roll into and out of focus.

Terry, the pentacon six :) never looked so good for me! I am so happy you have it now..you shoot some gorgeous stuff with her...

@ Andrea & Windy: CJ rode a blinder coming 14th out of 25 in the under 12's and 1st in his category under 8's of which there were only 3 riders... Hence he took a lot of older and experienced scalps... Thanks for the Hoy snap (now saved) and I revealed to him the secret message... Right happy pops me... ;D
LD: Last shot is superb...
Grey_Fish: Nice Peleton Pola...

On behalf of my plums thankyou for your kind comments ;D. As Paul alluded to I have done a kind of series on these and if you'll indulge me I'll put a seperate post up next week. Peter, like Phil I love your set this week (I already love your B&W work). The colour just matches the age and mood so perfectly. Phil, love the blue against blue of the taverna.
Harvey

Paul (mitchell)the colour and expansiveness of those beachscapes are fantastic.
Miles,Miller & Jeff ,I have to admit Im a sucker for images of kids lost in thought/concentration .
These are both taken in whitstable. The colour is holga& a fuji 400 of some type
The B&W is xa& xp2

Wow... some tremendous work here again this week. Some of those color photographs are pretty damn nice. Spectacular even...

Fantastic ride. I shall contact Sir Chris and let him know there is a new potential champ on the way up :-) It's made my day this has :-)
-
Diane´s cabin.. simple and beautiful
Soap - as said before they have a classy quality on them
Hookstrapped - really like 2nd and 3rd ones, fantastic, and the slight crossprocessed works just fine
Two color ones with the Rollei and Ektar film. It took some time to shoot this color roll. I remember putting the color roll in the camera and just asking myself: so now what, do I really want to shoot color? Lately with medium format I am just thinking in black and white. Is little Alma which is growing fast!
-
Beautiful images Calbisu (et al).
Here's a final one from me this weekend. Some flowers taken on Fuji Superia 200 (a trial roll of 12 taken with a my R3 Mot/50mm Summicron-R). It was a very simple grab shot but it's turned out better than anticipated...
-
Skorj... awesome pic.
-
Skorj... awesome pic.
Absolutely. The gloss on the roadway combined with the distressed image is just to die for.
-
Messing around with the speed graphic, trying to get the ground glass in sync with the film plane and I finally feel happy with the results. This is a test shot--basically set up to check focus at different distances--but by accident a woman sat down in the bleachers to watch a kids' soccer match out of frame to the right...
-
Skorj. Stunning!
-
here's two shots taken with a disposable kodak, lens flipped and reloaded with kentmere 100 (developed in old tmax dev 1+19)
I quite like the effect of the flipped lens, even though it's hard to know exactly what I'd like to use it for. many shots came out with blurred center and sharp corners.
-
I missed another weekend. GAH!!
Great stuff here all! Im really digging all the large, square, color landscapes. Wonderful!
Soap, really moving pix. Cant stop staring at them.
-
And HS, awesome stuff! Really reminding me a lot of Nan Goldin's work.
-
Went to a local festival this summer (Lounge on the Farm) and blagged a Press Pass from my daughter who was there for Radio 1. I have to admit to having to use digital mostly as the Radio 1 web site and Artrocker wanted pic that day. However ... On the last night Echo & The Bunneymen played and I was allowed down the front with the big Digi Boys, huge bodies and lenses. The sight on even my Mk1 5D with a tiny 1.8 50mm prime enraged them enough but when I pulled out the Trip they really started squinting at me. It was loaded with Legacy Pro 400 and I'd flipped off of Auto to 2.8 to prevent getting the "red finger". All available light and box processing in RO9.
Amazed anything came out at all ;D

Here are a few from the Superheadz Black Slim Devil - I took these last march on konica pro 160 expired back in 2004 but I just got around to scanning them the other day

Patrick_ absolutely love that Gulf station shot in the snow!!!
Where is that? I want to go there!

nothing from me again... but just wanted to chime in with a comment on all the great stuff posted once again.
making this monday at work just fly by!

Patrick_ absolutely love that Gulf station shot in the snow!!!
Where is that? I want to go there!
Ditto!
-
Thanks guys! The gulf station is in a small town in Southern Vermont called Woodford. The store is called Tiff's Trading Post. Unfortunately I don't think anyone will be able to get there anytime soon due to huge portions of roads that were destroyed during hurricane Irene :(
-
Phil - Have been admiring this on Flickr. Reminds me of all the happy hours I've spent in a anrevat!
Skorj - can't stop looking at it... marvelous!
calbisu - 2 wonderful studies, the first especially... I think it's the floating sneakers!
Patrick - great trio of images
Have finally gotten round to scanning some of my film from the last Ridgeway Ramble, here's a couple of pinholes to start with

paul - I've just seen these over at Flickr - very nice. You get such a nice softness to your pinholes without them being overly mushy - (technical terms!)

Thanks Leon, being such an admirer of your B&W work I really appreciate the comment
