What's the preference of fixer here?
With hardeners, without?
Brands?
Just curious as I need to reorder soon, and usually use the house brand from freestyle.

modern films don't really need hardeners - in fact they may even have a deleterious effect on washing times etc.
I use Ilford rapid fix/ hypam. 1:4 for film and 1:9 for paper. Great stuff.

ditto another one for Ilford rapid\hypam fixer.

I use fotospeed rapid fix which is allegedly very very similar to Ilford's rapid fix (guy who makes fotospeed stuff formerly worked at Ilford). It's slightly cheaper than Ilford here in the UK. I have a 5litre jug which tends to last me for a whole year on average.

I too use Ilford Rapid @ 1:9 film only

I also use Ilford Rapid at film concentrations for everything. I love the fact that it's so fast and it also lasts forever.
When I was shopping, I compared with the Kodak Fixer and let me tell you, the choice was easy to make. Between 1 minute fixing and 3-7 minute fix, I opted for the shortest one.

I use Tetanal Rapid-Fix. Iether Liquid or powder, recently i ran out of liquid so i have been mixiing up the powder. Months back at my local photo-chem retailer, they were selling powder packs to make 1L of Fixer Stock for $1AUD. so i bought like 50 of them! Works for both Film and Paper, never had any issues, smells and acts just like the Ilford version of RapidFix.
