: Some Photographs Taken in France - Exhibition, London
: Nigel June 01, 2011, 05:43:30 PM
I stumbled on the Diemar / Noble photography gallery on Saturday, I have to admit I'd never even heard of it before. It's in Wells Street, just off Oxford Street, London. If you're in the area it's worth popping in. It's only a small exhibition over two floors maybe 30-ish prints, celebrating photography in France over the last 100 years.

There are a few highlights, the main one for me being, an original Cartier-Bresson print, some from the late 19th century, a daguerreotype for sale at a cool £13,500 and a series of four small prints of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec 'defecating' on the beach (actually quite unpleasant)!

What was really great, having been to a few very busy exhibitions recently, I was the only person in there! Worth a look if you're in the area.

Oh my, now I've seen it all....!!! H. Toulouse-Lautrec with his trousers round his ankles taking a poop on a beach in northern France has to be THE most surreal series of photos I have ever seen...... :o :o

The other stuff pales into relative insignificance but I am strangely drawn to going having a look to see what other delights are on offer.

Looks like a gem of a place, Nigel. Nice one!
