I managed to get my hands on some expired Ansco All-Weather 620 film which I ran thorugh some of my vintage/toy cams. One roll was half exposed in a Kodak Duaflex II and I burned the rest through as well.
With some help from our chemist, he mixed up some D-76 (from scratch, I love this guy) and some anti-fog.
40 years and 12 minutes later I had some images. The in-camera roll had the pitting and wear I had expected and hoped for.
I'm impatiently waiting to find time to finish the rest of the rolls, but in the meantime I offer up two samples:

I never thought of putting Anti-Fog for developing film...
Did it affect exposure or developing time like it does usually for paper?
-
I can't say for sure how much the anti-fog affected the time or exposure. I didn't do any film tests, this was a "jump-on-in" experiment and no technical notes were made or considered. I did extend the recommended development time about 20%, but that's about the most thought I gave it.

Wow those are stunning, can't wait to see the rest :)

Very Cool!

Sweet! Not only the tech stuff, but great subjects that work with the process too. Nice. Thanks for showing.

really liking these Warren. I'm with Becky ... can we see some more?

Thanks everyone. The rest of this roll isn't worth a flip. There were only four frames left for me to use, two of them were misfires (itchy trigger finger) but I'll get them scanned anyway. The older exposures are blank.
I need to process the other rolls this weekend and see if the pitting and stress hold up. These were rolls that were still sealed but I know nothing of their history. Who knows what they've been through if anything.
Thanks again for the feedback. Always jazzed to get anything from an experiment like this, not to mention images that I'm happy with and turn out as I'd hoped or better.

That first image is super, inspiring, thanks for sharing.

Hot damn, bro. These are stunners.

Love 'em both. Very striking indeed. Experiments with old film can be frustrating or rewarding...in fact, usually both at the same time.
