Well... it's friday and I finally have some photos to start the weekend thread :o
More of the well expired Ilford... wonder if a memory card would last 47 years !
Sarlat, France - (hello "Foodwasters" people...) famous for the Foie Gras and Truffles.
-
great pictures both - and it's only a few hours into friday.
truffles - YES!
Foie Gras - Not On Your Nelly. How Awful.
-
These are great, I love these expired Ilford shots Mauricio.
I'll be back when I've consumed more coffee.
-
yep good start . . .

Great start to the weekend! I need to get busy!
:)
-
Another one from my Bath trip last year.
-
Sapata, that third one reminds me... mmhh, a very famous photograph of a bridge with a train..in paris.. Andre Kertesz, or somehting similar..
A series from the Pentax 67
-
Finally got my scans back.
Some snaps from Argentina. The camera was an oympus xa. The film was either ektar or portra 160 vc.

This last one says: The ship is safe in the harbor, but that's not what ships are made for.

Gorgeous, now I want a Diana Mini :P
-
Nicely done, Suzi. Calbisu, that is a great series of shots and Diane, lovely!
-
Alouain: that pano would make a beautiful print!
Sapata: this makes me think about Eugene Atget.
Calbisu: Great pictures. Those are some mean cocks, do they have blades on their spores too?
-
Hasselblad 501CM and Fuji Pro 400H
-

A phrase I never dreamed would ever be mentioned at filmwasters ;)

Hahaha. oops? ;D

I was wondering who would mention this first.. I was biting my tongue! :) :)
-
messing about with a yashica-mat and red filter. also growing pains with hc-110 and completely misreading the developing charts...so underexposed and underdeveloped! still kinda cool, though.
-
Slide film. Remember that? Just had one from last year back. From a cyclosportive near Ullapool, mainland Scotland.
Sonja and Cailean
-
Great stuff, Sean. Underexposed or not!
Andrea, sweet shot and I miss shooting slide.
-
Some lovely dark moody stuff in this thread. I was out earlier in the week shooting in the dark with the Ikoflex and a roll of Foma 400.
-
Wow, Terry. smallimg826.jpg scares me and I'm fearless.
Three from the first roll of Tri-x put through a newly acquired Olympus OM-1 with a 28mm lens.
-
Thanks all for the nice comments !...
leon, I actually enjoyed Foie Gras... just don't think how it is made ;)
aoluain and diane... another amazing pano !
blaxton's dog picture is so cute !
I particularly like lino's series from Argentina, the tones are fantastic!...and moominsean shot's takes me back to David Lynch's Mulholland Drive ! awesome !
-
SEan, just like it this way!
And in the Philippines they say: When a Filipinos house catches fire, he first rescues his gamecock, then his wife, and then his kid
And nop, did not see blades... they were just coaching and selling them not serious fight though. ::)
-
Blaxton: I didn't mean to frighten anyone! Actually it was a fine warm evening and the shop had its door propped open...a hint of spring on its way. I guess that face in the murk there is a bit scary though.
I especially like the second dog photo...
-
cockfighting was still legal in arizona when i moved here in 1997, but they banned it a couple years later. still lots of underground action, though...
-

Great...
I always have my Holga or Diana loaded with some Fuji Provia 100 for sunny days...
-
Phil that's a great picture. But totally unexpected from you!
I'm finally getting back into scanning. This is the only usable image shot with my FED-2 and the Industar-22 collapsible lens. Probably because the lens is totally scratched and also slightly moldy.

slowly working through a couple of years of scans, vivitar uws this time...
-
Hello Filmwasters, thought I would jump straight in with my first post. Took this in Ronda, Spain while a little drunk on a recent trip with the haphazard Lomo and HP5.
-
Nice first post! The drink apparently did you no harm...
-
sapata - you're getting surprising tones from that old Ilford! And those beachy holga shots make me giddy!
Phil - that 'pink and green' number absolutely makes me swoon!
Sean - accidental film noir is a good thing, I particularly love the 1st one and that 2nd one reminds me of the way they used to shoot movies in the 50s to simulate moonlight!!
Terry - beautiful tree reflections in that 2nd shot - I love the ambiance!
Al - the kids throwing rocks - lovely.
Warren_M - a runaway bull! :)
-
It's the weekend - it's cold and raining so I decided to dredge my old negative files. Going back some twenty five years or so, I decided to scan some real oldies. Grainy, dirty and scratched - but hey, what the heck, it was a nostalgic journey!

Peter, I love the light in the second - lovely work.

Hasselblad SWC and Fuji 160c in Crete
-
Phil, how many rolls did you shoot in Crete? ;D
-
Calbisu, I really love the look of your camera and the way you expose film.
Sean, I really like the first one. Very dark and low-key at the same time the grays are nice too.
Al, Your second picture is awesome. Love the framing of the flowers. That vivitar looks nice.
Hookstrapped, like Phil said, the second one is great. Great light and great model.

I don't shoot that much, probably about a roll a day maximum when I am away. :-[
-
shot today with an aprox. 15-20 year old Polaroid 665 film.

I have not been shooting lately at all :( so I'm back to stuff I shot 3 months ago.
Cosina CX-2 (the "original" LC-A) which I picked up at a local charity shop in London for I think 7 quid. Film is cheap Digi3 (rebranded Agfa). The lady in the first picture is Ava Gardner.
-
Thanks, Phil.

hookstrapped,
It's is a great series and this is one of the best...
-
Afew shots taken with my Rollei TLR in France.
I can't decide between the first 2 shots... I think I prefer the 2nd but the leg of the wardrobe got chopped because I couldn't go anymore further with the camera...

Is it a 'Century' or 'Crown Majesta'....
Thanks for that as I always wanted to 'pimp' up a Century (very few imported in the UK) after seeing this style humming around Shinjuku back in the day with curtains drawn.
Great memories cruising my old classic Crown around London Chimpura/Yakuza style...

looks like a century to me.

looks like a century to me.
Hai! 100% Century, and in my area of Tokio we see both pimped yak Century:
and staid Captains of Industry Century (I do love that gray):
Both FujiPro 400 from a Konica 28 WB (http://www.filmwasters.com/forum/index.php?topic=2880.0) (keeping in fw-mode). The bagmen in the white one gave me the evil eye, and threatening gestures when they saw me taking their photograph, but I pointed to their wheels and gave a big thumbs-up wave, and they both smiled and waved. Skj.
-
Quick and Good reaction Skorj ;D I love the toyota Crown but here in the Philippines own a Toyota camry... what to do? ::)
-
Skorj, good to see that you dodged that bullet :o

Found this ole Pola shot of me on the bonnet of my '75...
Sometimes me and friends would hit a club in Roppongi only to spot some shady dudes in private areas with their Punch Perm tight afro hairstyles that they wore back then to my quiet amusement. Most of the time they would buy us a drink and party down extremely drunk and over friendly with the ladies impressed with our non-permed afro hair... Some wild nights I could not discuss here.... Those boys partied hard...

Here's a couple of shots from December of the snow in Cardiff which I've just got developed...
Pentax P50 with Kodak Gold
-
Miller--the very essence of cool.
Fedo--I like the appearance of grim determination on those stone figures, as they endure the indignity of being snowed on.
-
Lawrie, that first one with the tree shadow, is beautiful
Phil, nice to see some green from you, and looking good ;D
-
I have a Hasselblad on loan from Andrea. From the first roll of film - Rollei Retro 400s dev'd in Aculux

Miller, sweet! 8)
Ian, don't give it back ;D
-
Love Hookstrapped's series of images and the grain in Sapata's 1st image.
A good selection of images from all concerned.
I've been playing with my home made pinhole, on an Etrs back again. The first image is the best of half a dozen taken with this and the second is four images, keeping true to the principles of this site was using the film up as I wanted to see how the pin holes were doing. HP5 rated @200 in Rodinal 1:100 stand.

Neat ride!
... with their Punch Perm tight afro hairstyles that they wore back then to my quiet amusement...
Not that I spend much time in Roppongi these days, but they still sport permed hair regularly... Some bozu to the extreme too.
Still the weekend some places too I suppose, so we can finish up with this guy who fell over himself to help, gave away free postcards, stamps, and was mighty happy with a portrait in front of his fave castle...

Expired Type-665 from a 75mm 600SE. Thanks all! Skj.

very first wet plate at home, portable darkroom... French 13x18 camera 1860, it should go better the next times....
-
pdewolff - total respect!
-
HappyForest, I really like the quad of cabbages.
They remind me of I'itoi, or "the Man in the maze" a design I often see in my part of the world.
Very nice pinhole work.
Also love the cars!

So cool !!
I'm so jealous right now... ;)
-
Awesome weekend thread! Sorry I missed it.
Miller, what Terry said, and Skorj, that portrait shot is totally yummy! I just love the solarization!!!
-
a couple of shots from this weekend....
The first is shot with an Agfa Clack
The second with a pinhole camera on some old Chocolate Film. I'm not sure if the color is bad because of how cold it was out, or the longish exposure, or how old the film was...
-
Wow...
2nd shot if you haven't said anything I'd say it was a beautiful drawing !
-
Chris Agree with Sapata there is a drawing like quality to this one.
Astrobeck. Thank you for your comments on the pinhole, particulary since you are such an accomplised pinholer. I'll have to try again, maybe see if I can make a better pinhole for this camera. I see what you meant by man in the maze\I'itol. Only cause I looked it up though.
pdewolff This is great, one day maybe all photo's will have to be done this way.
Keep em coming.
