Ooooh, I like all of these.  How did you make the warm and cool tones-P/S?
And what are those gentlemen selling in that bottom photo?  Are those rolled sugar wafers?
Your neighborhood is so fascinating and rich with texture.

PS? Nah... instead of clearing in sulfite, I clear them in roasted barley tea (mugi-cha). It is one of the common drinks here, so I can go out on a day's shoot and buy it from a vending machine to clear in a Zip-Loc in the field.

They are selling incense sticks, for burning at a local shrine, to welcome in the new year.

I especially love the first shot.

Thanks! This one gets to me too! I asked him as usual, but instead of the usual modest acknowledgment, he asked me why. I told him he look cool in front of his shop, so he giggled and proudly stood straight and laughed with his neighbors that he was now famous.

Great shots, really like the last one.  Love the film character.

I love all of them but the first one for it's beautiful mood and the last one for that timeless quality that has already been expressed. Thank you for sharing.

Yup - another vote here for the first one. I'm always full of admiration for people who have the nerve to take portraits. I've had a portrait project idea for more than two years now, and still haven't mustered up the courage to make the first move with it. It's all I managed to take a decent portrait of my mum and dad last year! So congratulations - all the pictures have a very assured air about them, which is something you should be proud of.

All winners but count me in for elevating the first one to the top. Absolutely gorgeous in every way.
