Happy New Year people! :)
I have 3 potential photo aspirations for 2007-
- moving from a YashicaMat to a Mamiya TLR in the next few months (to use longer lenses)
- moving to Epson Ultrachome inks for portfolio work (will have to sell my lovely Fuji Rangefinder to finance it :'()
- setting up a website
So what do you all plan to try out in the upcoming year?

I have a couple:
1. Learn how to print on metal with liquid emulsion, and
2. Shoot more with my 4x5

I found Peace with my 4 x5 pinhole over the holidays, so I plan on using it more this year.

Happy New Year all.
I think I have too many aspirations but here they are:
Set aside one evening a week to concentrate on photography
Have fun with my newly made pinhole cameras
Experiment with hand colouring - as inspired by Aline
Try to produce some cyanotype or salt prints
Get back to experimenting with Large format photography
Phew, not sure I'll fit it all in, but there's no harm trying eh?

Wow! That's a great set of objectives... Admirable. I will be happy if I just am able to spend more time than last year shooting, and hopefully not see any more Polaroid film disappear. Shogani. Thanks. Skj.

I have just heard that I have had one of my pinhole images published in this months AG so pretty chuffed about that. I hope to get a portfolio together for submission for an ARPS in the next 12 months either using work from a project I am working on recording a farm or with pinhole images made from a 10x8 camera.
All the very best for 2007 folks:)

My aspirations are on-going, but for this year I hope to focus more on printing in the darkroom/toning and completely a "set" of work just for me of some sorts. Not as a true portfolio, but just a set. I did something similar during this year and it was a very good growth exercise, I've just grown a bit slack having printed more for other people than for myself lately. And, I'd finally like a body of work of images of my family to hang as a gallery on my living room walls. Something like 4x5 array of 8x10s or something like this.
I would also like to do more cyanotypes, Van Dykes, and also some handtinting. Probably will be encouraging me to use the 8x10 more for these sorts of things as well.
That's about it for me.

1) Get some prints on the wall. I've been doing photography seriously for about six years now and my blank walls are becoming embarassing! Also, I probably (finally) have enough good shots to do the job now.
2) Lose about a stone in weight and improve my fitness and stamina. This may not seem like a photographic aspiration at first sight, but when you're lugging a Mamiya C330S, three lenses, a spotmeter and a Manfrotto 055ProB in the foothills of Ben Nevis, believe me...! :o ::) :)
3) Borrowing one of Janet's aspirations, dedicate at least one evening (shiftable to a weekend morning or afternoon) a week to photography.
Don't know whether I'll manage any of them, but I'll give it a go...

My goals for the year are simple (and not in any particular order):
1) Keep submitting and (hopefully) getting into juried shows. I lucked out and on got into 11 of them in '06;
2) Continue to work on my long term photo projects (Gateway Arch, Jesus on the Mainline, Across the Borderline, etc.);
3) Work on my portfolio(s);
4) Make sure I get my application for FotoFest '08 Meeting Place photo review out as soon as they announce (this summer??);
3) Start doing alt process printing, particularly platinum/palladium and ziatype; and
4) Continue to have a lot of fun shooting...
