Since Skorj posted that ultra sexy Fuji camera in an earlier post.....it got me to wondering what cameras you all are lusting for this holiday season?

what is it about Fuji that they make such desirable cameras?
My collection won't be complete until there's a Fujipet on the shelf.. I won't even be fussy what color it is.. And with luck it won't cost quite as much as Skorj's baby.
-
Not that I need anymore cameras, but I'm still looking at the Polaroid 195 and 600 se, but will probably not try and win until I get a 35mm lens for my Leica. A Fujipet 35 would be a nice addition to my two Fujipets.
-
(At the risk of being tossed out of this community for the very idea...) I think I'm actually okay for cameras.
I have an F80 and three Nikkors for 35mm, a C330S and three primes for MF and a Rollei 35 for a carry-everywhere solution.
I'm not really tempted by LF and 6x7 (whilst tempting) wouldn't really give me much more than I already have (probably DoF preview would be the main advantage!). Toy cameras are formidable in the hands of people like Susan and Leon (et al), but the unpredictability would not be welcomed by a control freak like yours truly!
If there was a mint-condition Rollei 35 S going begging I wouldn't turn it away (keep B&W in the Tessar and use something like Provia 100F in the Sonnar), but carrying one of those counts as weight training so I'm not sure it would be practical.
Erm... I could use another cable release, a shedload of chems and some conservation board. Does that help?!

the fujipet has been my holy grail since first laying eyes on one(not in person unfortunately) but i'll be pretty happy if my parents are able to scrounge up a polaroid sx-70 for me for xmas.:)

I must say that if I was asked the same question a few years ago, I would have probably listed something different. The only thing I think has changed is that as time goes on, my list has become shorter and more and more expensive... and it isn't due to inflation :)
Top of my list would probably be a Leica with Noctilux, a 'Blad or an Alpa... too bad it's only in my dreams...
(I would probably add a Fujipet Thunderbird, a Cosmic Symbol or an Ami 66... and its all your fault ;) )
But I must say that I am pretty happy with the cameras I got. I don't feel I really need more (though I wouldn't pass a good deal).
And since I don't shop on eBay, temptation isn't there. I am now trying to keep things to a minimum (not that I have many cameras, but I have found there are some I use all the time while the other are like bowling trophies on the shelf).
And since Santa isn't rich, what I really would want are a decent lab or a calibration spyder. And I probably will end up with a couple of shirts, a tie and wool socks ::) ::) ::)

Becky--what's on your wish list?
Me--the list is too long.
Ehem...
thought I'd mix it up with some "real" cameras. You know, the one's with "real" lenses.
I recently purchased an old hassy -- sadly it was broken and beyond repair. Wouldn't mind finding another so I could use all the components I bought for it. Or a Bronica would do.
Mamiya 6 would be nice & Widelux 1500 or a Noblex MF--either one. I'm not picky. ;)
Update. Scratch the Bronica off my list. Santa seems to have come early this year. Great deal on ebay...couldn't pass it up! So now--first on the list, Epson 3800. I'd prefer the 9800, but it's bigger than my office!
-
If Santa were to place a Hassy 203 or 205 under the tree, I certainly wouldn't complain. Then again, if it was a gently used Hassy 2000 FCW, I wouldn't mind either... ;)
-
I was going to say a Condenser Head for my Devere 504 and lots of spares/ glass neg carriers and 2 schneider companon-s lenses to compliment my rodenstock collection .... but I'm picking it all up on Saturday, so I guess I'll opt for peace on earth and the abolition of world poverty, or something similar :D

Yeah Becky, what's on your wish list...
You know, Santa might be reading this!
Now for some somewhat useful information (yet also somewhat off topic), few people know that Santa Claus (a.k.a. Father Christmas) actually lives in Canada.
Even fewer people know that you can actually write to Santa Claus and get a hand written answer back!
No matter where you live in the world and no matter what language you speak, Santa Claus always answers back.
You can also ask Santa any question, tell him anything and he always comes out with an encouraging word... We all know how nice he can be.
Here's a short excerpt from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_postal_code)
In 1974, staff at Canada Post's Montreal office were noticing a considerable amount of letters addressed to Santa Claus coming into the postal system, and those letters were being treated as undeliverable. Since those employees did not want those writing the letters, mostly young children, being disappointed at the lack of responses, they started answering the letters themselves. The amount of mail sent to Santa Claus increased every Christmas, up to the point that Canada Post decided to start an official Santa Claus letter-response program in 1983. Approximately one million letters come in to Santa Claus each Christmas, including from outside of Canada, and all of them are answered, in the same languages in which they are written.
Canada Post commissioned a special address for mail to Santa Claus, complete with its own dedicated postal code:
SANTA CLAUS
NORTH POLE H0H 0H0
CANADA
H0H 0H0 was chosen because it looks like "Ho ho ho".
(that's H zero H space zero H zero)
So, do take note of this address. Children big and small will enjoy it!

Hassy X-pan :o :P

I have always loved the Nikon F. I have two, its the only 35mm camera i have that gives a 100% in the viewfinder. Anyway i want another one, a mint one with a plain prism.
-
I'm pretty happy with the Holga and Yashica at the moment so I'll not be buying anything new for a wee while.
However, if the following turned up on Christmas morning then I'd jump around like a small child:
- a 10x8 film back to build a pinhole camera around
- a 6x6 'cheap' SLR to try my hand at homemade 'bendy' lens (possible a Great Wall camera)
- another Holga (this time with glass lens as I like that effect)
As it stands, however, as long as I get a nice bottle of whisky then I'll be happy at Christmas ;D

What a great thread!
Continuing my Polaroid fetish, for me, it would be a 600SE with the 75mm lens. Big as a bus, but love that wide look. A few spare backs in the cargo pants, and I'll be away. Anyone want to trade for a Fujipet? Ha ha.

(Thanks Cam; you've got me hooked.)

Well, before Skorj posted all of those snazzy ads in Japanese, I was lusting for an older film version Contax TVS,
but now I think I would like some "Learn Japanese" CD's.

A big roll of gaffer tape

As I once read on the net:
Gaffer tape is like the force; it has a light and a dark side. And it binds the universe together.

A big roll of gaffer tape
To... make sure they don't get away and that nobody hears their screams?
I have to agree, it is the best tool for the job.

I've been trying to hunt down a reasonably priced 5x4 size Graflex RB for over a year now. I think the 'Super D' is the model I'm after, but there are probably several others that fit the bill.
Other than that I've always had a yen for a Linhof 617 or anything similar.

but now I think I would like some "Learn Japanese" CD's.
Easy! Turn on Japanese fonts; View, Encoding, Japanese (Auto-Select), and start with these perhaps:
カメラ (kamera - camera)
ペンタックス (Pentakasu - Pentax)
ライカ (Raika - Leica)
ポラロイド (Poraroido - Polaroid)
キヤノン (Kyanon - Canon)
レンズ (renzu - lens)
ローライ (Rorei - Rolei)
リンホフ (Rinhofu - Linhoff)
ハッセル (Hasseru - Hasselblad)
コンタレックス (Kontarekkusu - Contax)
ニコン (Nikon - Nikon)
フジ (Fuji - Fuji)
マミヤ (Mamiya - Mamiya)

Lucky! Jealous I am...

Just snagged a Yashica T4 Zoom from E-Santa.
Anyone else have one?
It looks like the perfect pocket shooter.

oooh--very nice. Congrats Becky!
Sadly, my Bronie was broken. First the Hassy, now the Bronie.
I think it's the almighty's way of saying you should just shoot homemade.
But there's a chance the Bronie can be saved...fingers crossed.

Famous last words... :(

Erm, well... It wasn't exactly begging... It was a little less expensive than my Tessar, though. And it came with a small flash. And it is cosmetically immaculate.
All right, I was weak.
My name's Frank and I'm a cameraholic...
