I was shown a book of photographs from this guy at the weekend. His pics are truly amazing and his process is fascinating. Has anyone else come across him before?

They have a quality of their own - something I've never seen before - in the book reproduction at least. I'd love to see the original prints.

Have not heard of this chap but I have come across the carbon Fresson somewhere before. There's a company using that name here http://www.atelier-fresson.com .
I must say I really like the images too.

Interesting images, they have quite a graphic dark feel. Is the Carbon-Fresson process similar to carbro printing?
If so I've seen mono and colour images and they are quite dramatic.

I wish I had time....

I went through his book but I didn´t buy it (shame on me) at FNAC Barcelona. And yes I was impressed by his pictorique style. POwerful, powerful.
-
I feel like I've seen some of this before but the name doesn't ring a bell. so thanks for the tip! I'll be sure to check the city library~
...or if they don't have it, make them buy something with him ;D
almost got them to order on being a photographer but that book seems to be out of print ???

I havent heard of either the artist or the process but Im going to check it all out. These pictures are incredible. To me, they have an old school Hollywood feel to them, especially the close up shot of the fisherman. I think thats what he is.

Ateliers Fresson is the company that still produces those wonderful prints. Their color process is simply amazing to look at... and very labor intensive. I've once seen on TV a short visit of their workshop and they still use all the vintage gear made years ago, including an incredibly powerful arc lamp for exposure... they expose multiple frames simultaneously with the bulb in the center of the machine.

I just found this on the youtube

But I'm not sure what home made explosives and littering the countryside with broken glass has to do with the process???
