sean, she looks lovely you should have hung on to her! ;)
-
And now breaking the theme ;) I just scanned the first film I shot with Janet Penny's Ensign box camera. Nothing really exciting, but not too bad for a first roll.

It's valentines day, shouldn't there be a couple snogging in the shelter?
-
Somewhere I have a photo of a batch of baby spiders (what is the collective term for that!) clustered together in a heart shape on a wall - it's about 15 years old so no chance of finding it.
Managed to develop three rolls this weekend, two from an Agfa Isola - HP5 in rodinal (won't be doing that again) and some old kodak portra160VC, plus another roll of 160VC through my kiev 6c.

I was out and about in Kent this weekend with my family (including a wonderful evening at the East Kent branch of Filmwasters Inc with Leon, Ailsa & other halves). Snow lay thick on the ground and the weather was crisp, cold, blue and sunny. I took a few snaps with the Ricoh GR1S, but won't get those back from the lab for a week or two (or maybe a year or two). I did however have the Land Cam in tow and got through a pack of film with that too. Not had any time to process them properly (scan then PS, stain with coffee then scan again then PS again) and the next few evenings are already taken with non-photo-related activities, so here's a digi snap of my naked prints to act as a taster.

here's a shot taken down on the seafront in Dysart, Kirkcaldy. Fuji 800z, Contax G2. The fog was breaking up over the Firth of Forth revealing other cloud formations and the sun was coming through.

Fog and Maisie - wow!

Hookstrapped- Love those Color Gakkenflex images!
-
Hookstrapped - that's a lot of photos for one post!

Karl: I love your photo of the boat's silhouette. Outstanding stuff. I spend a bit of time down near the docks at Dover and often see a version of your photo as I look across The Channel and watch the ferries while my kids are paddling in the sea or walking on the shore. Occasionally I have a camera in hand and attempt a snap, but rarely do they have the same impact as yours. Lovely stuff.
Vicky: The Maisie photo is exacty my kind of thing. Bravo! I love the grain and the contrast....and the subject and the composition :D I used to enjoy attemptingthe same type of treatment (albeit not so close in) with my kids before I temporarily phased out b/w in an effort to reclaim my life for a year or two (hence the recent 'all Polaroid' output).
There was guy whose work I used to follow online - I think his name is John Perkinson (?) - because he took the most beautiful pictures of his daughters. I stumbled across him when my own daughter was under a year old and his photos made me want her to become 7 or 8 overnight. I get the same sort of excitement from seeing your photos of Maisie. My daughter's 5 in a few weeks...and now I want her to be a whole lot older again so I can take photos of her like you would :D All in good time.
In the meantime, here are some blasts from the past for illustration purposes (the first two are my daughter, Amy, the last one is her cousin, Emily). Film is either Tri-X 400 or Tasma 100 and the dev is probably Rodinal.

I thought that was just gossip and cruel rumours?

:) @ hookstrapped
and
:)) @ leon.
thanks skorj!
ed, you're very kind, thank you.
funnily enough i came across john perkinson when i very first got interested in photography and was also smitten by the pictures of his daughters ...i still remember two of them particularly, both b/w, one of a daughter in a large collared smock (lf, lots of t & s) and one of a daughter holding a sparkler....he really inspired me too.....i wished that i'd started taking pictures when my children were smaller :)
can't help but smile back at the pictures of amy :) ( i actually thought the top one was you as a child, so alike!!!)

Thanks Ed! I originally come from the south coast, just outside Portsmouth. I don't know what the seascapes around Dover are like, but the ones up here are more dramatic than the Solent. I went up to Orkney a few years ago where they are even more amazing. I'd love to travel around taking photos of great British seascapes.
Sooo many fab images here with a lot of love, longing, or both. Ed, Vicky, like you I love family pics which become such a great document over time. I'll look up John Perkinson but apart from the obvious names like Sally Mann etc, I really like Robin Grierson's work

I do look forward to seeing what everyone has been up to on these weekend posts. Another series of great work particularly like those by
Calisbu Calbisu and Al (especially the grasses).
Here's one from a film developed Monday night (foma 400 in LC29, taken on an unbranded made in China thing with fixed aperture, shutter speed and focus)
