Very cold here in Seattle (for Seattle standards). -9 c when waking this AM. Shooting polaroid outside has been a challenge, but a couple of (indoor) experiments with macro diopters came out to my liking. Both 665, both scanned as RGB.

Great pics so far! It was a wonderful day here today, frosty with drifting fog. Shame I was working and couldn't take any pics but we're due more of the same over the weekend. I got 3 films in the post today so scanning is under way.
Some efforts from the holga (provia 400x):

BTW Damion..that Cuban bus is wonderful and would make a terrific postcard at sometime or another! just thought I would mention that in case you are ever stimeed for a project... :)
-
Wow, thanks diane, always good to get a nice comment!
I am quite keen on it and whilst id not thought about a postcard I was going to try and look at a pola transfer. It was infact my plan for today.....which due to my works christmas party last night, plans got altered due to a thumping head....oops!
I was going to send a cuban themed on this round but a) i couldnt find the ones i had made and 2) was unsure if it would mean our US friends being rounded up in the night for being damned commies.

Some stunning images this weekend already. I will try to have something to contribute tomorrow.
Gregor - the second image really resonates with me
tinm@n - tis I that need to take note - the second image is a real portrait - leaving the ret to the viewer is very classy indeed
andrea - the best yet and a great read too - in your own inimitable style
calbisu - the second is another image that really deserves time and space to be viewed.
-

Hi all, sorry this is a bit big, but I've got about 3 minutes to get this posted before 'getting the kids ready for bed' happens. Will chip later w/ comments (Andrea...your snap is amazing) and maybe another image or two. Here's one from yesterday though to kick things off:

some great stuff here.
Ed - Loving the photo of Amy, looks like your having a pagan do this year.
How did that cracking effect happen on the print?

Agree; it does have that "Samhain album cover" look to it ;) The print is stained in instant coffee for the aged look (and added fragrance) and then if you want cracks you can dry it for a couple of mins on a radiator instead of at room temp. Not too long though or you'll get loads of cracks. You'll be absolutely stunned to hear that my process is - as yet - a trifle hit and miss ;D :D Keeping it real by deploying the Wenn/Rice "Ballpark Method" as stipulated in our Filmwasters contracts.
Here's a second photo from this weekend. Not as effective, but still something of the mysterious about it I hope. Goop scan.

At risk of being a bore, I post five from the first rolls of tri-x exposed in my newly acquired Canonet G-III QL. I think that I may have a new favorite camera...

Howdy,
Here are a couple of Fuji Instant film photos, taken with a 1939 Speed Graphic and an 1860s 12" f/8 Darlot brass
barrel lens (see photo #3). :D

Ed - I love the look of that first shot in particular. I might have to give the instant coffee thing a go, the only trouble is I need some way to make a print. ??? ???

Glad to hear that you have basically mounted the goalposts on wheels.
I tried to set aside some time to do some Pola transfers last night, for some wierd reason I could not get a decent transfer.....I dont understand it, Ive done it a fair few times before and for some reason it was not playing ball last night.

Nigel, I doubt whether the instant coffee staining 'process' (if I may be so grand? No, OK, sorry) will work in the same way on any prints other than Polacolor 125i....you may get similar results from other Polaroid peel-apart film (possibly even from their Fujifilm equivalents...although they're water-based I think so drowning them in warm coffee may not be the best idea).
D, sorry to hear your transfers didn't work out so well. I haven't done any for a while, but hope to get some quality transfer time in over the Christmas break. Also, I have a pack of art paper for you as a thankyou for the starter pack you set me up with earlier in the year.
-
mhhh, should try this coffe thing the results seems worth it!
-
Carl - thanks for the kudos ! A late Sunday shot, wrapping up the weekend for me. Graflex w/polaroid type 52.

Love that 1st shot. The peel apart print from 665 is quite nice. The gloss of the fixer plays havoc with my scanner. I have to remember to scan before fixing ;-)
