So, today I'm shooting this big series on 5x4 and it seemed like a good idea to do some movement shots. Yeah, I know this has been done before on digi, but, what the hey..

Pic #1 is the dorky moment of madness (I'm swinging at 1/4 @f16) Pic #2 is my digital exposure test. If I end up with anything close to this on film I'll be a  happy man.

Encouraged by this experiment, this Friday's pic is where I pop the Toyo into a half submerged fish tank for a half in/half  out of water pic in a volcanic lake. I'll report back on the weekend if the camera (and I) survive this trip.  :-\   or not.

well it certainly looks like fun. I don't know if I could swing a 5x4 like that for fear I would smash it into the ground.

I'm swinging at 1/4 @f16

...that would make for a decidedly cryptic Facebook status message!!
 ;D ;D ;D

Don, as usual your way of thinking about this photography business is exciting and interesting. I can't wait to see where this technique takes you. Don't drown over the weekend.

First the good news- the camera survived it's week of ill-treatment.

Firstly here is the shot I was trying for in the original post. I'm pleased- it's better than my digi exposure test I reckon.  The final film is Fujo 160S Quickload, with an 81EF filter.

Next shots are the mountain top set-up and final picture. If I did much of this sort of thing I'd sell the monorail in favor of a field camera, but this was a bit of a one-off. I'm not usually a landscaper.

this the weekend I'll scan the shots of the 5x4 having it's swimming lesson..

Hey Ken
The location is Mount Shank south of Mount Gambier- we are up on the lip of the crater. The models are librarians, and no, you can never be tall enough..

- Maybe buy a bright blue Sinar grad filter and slide it down to the horizon level, to paint your clouds blue  8)

Epic! Just do not hit anyone with it when swinging? It would take their head, clean off...
