Some photos taken on Dec 31st 2008 during a walk in the Nottinghamshire countryside. Agfa Isola & TMAX400.

Carl, for once I was able to turn Amy's newly found uncooperative streak to my advantage. She used to love posing for photos, but now that she's nearly 4 and all grown up (cough!), she's become more aware of the camera and uses the fact that I want her as a model as some sort of currency in our daily parent/child power struggle :D
This time I decided to embrace the fact that I wasn't going to get a direct look and a radiant smile and just snapped off a couple while she pretended to ignore me. Glad you like it. I do too.

Yeah, the Isola rocks. When I picked these up from the lab earlier I looked at the negs to check them and thought to myself, "Ah yes, the Bronica strikes again...these look pretty good", only to remember 5 mins later that they were taken with the Isola. The English rose is Jacqui's sister, Suzi, and the grass is in fact a field of maize which had been left uncut and had frozen solid. I was wonderful walking through it as it was all white with frost.

I did like the pentax version of the tree on yr blog, but the square format will always win me over.
Love the Agfa, and you've captured some excellent tones in that winter light.

Ed, they're really great, very good contrast. I've got an Isola and I'm always surprised how good it is for a camera that cost me ?5!

So... Ed. I have found a Zenza Bronica S2A Medium Format Film Camera..the adds says that though the lens is in very good condition it needs to be taken apart and cleaned and reassembled..since it sounds like you have a Bronica I am wondering if this would possible be something relatively easy to accomplish..(I am somewhat handy)..how is this type of Bronica different from what you may have?

Actually, Diane, I have 3 Bronicas (it's a long story, but let's say evilBay is just that...an evil temptress ;)). I have an ETRS, an SQA and an older S2A. Leon has an SQA too and is very much the 'go to guy' for anything technical on that front (his pictures speak for themselves) and I'm sure others here have one or more cams from the various Bronica MF ranges. I know Susan B used to own an S2A, but I'm not sure if she ever took it apart.
Personally I'm a bit of a fool when it comes to the technical side anything over and above a toy camera so I can't be much help on this occasion. I will however open this up in a separate thread as I'm sure some of the other Filmwasters will be able to help. The good news is that the S2A doesn't have the shutter in the lens as with the SQA and the ETRS so any cleaning tasks will be exponentially simpler (I'd have thought) as a result.

Diane check out the Bronica users group on Yahoo. S2A is the better version of S2 camera. Lots of helpful folks http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Bronica/ (http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Bronica/) I had one and unfortunately sold it. Great camera though. I suggest getting new ground glass if yours isnt bright. There are fresnel ones that are ok and make it brighter but you can see the fresnel which is annoying. Hope you can get it going!!!!

Great collection of images Ed, nice to get a roll back with so many good images on it. Make sure and print them especially the first one. It will make a lovely print.
