I just picked up a Super Shooter at the flea market this morning. I was wondering about the ability to shoot either type 80 or type 669 formats. Is there any type 80 floating around the market anymore --even expired stuff? And, has anyone got experience with this camera?
Thanks! :)

when in polaroid doubt, check the landlist: http://www.rwhirled.com/landlist/landhome.htm
The all knowing landlist says it takes type 100 or type 80 film and that it can use either standard rectangular format OR square format pack films.
Skorj--don't you have one of these?

Hey, great score there. One of the more versatile of the Polaroid hard cases. Here's an overview of what you can expect:

and here's a comment on expired Polaroid film:

Regardless, you're bound to have a lot of fun with it. Just make sure it has new batteries, and the shutter works OK before buying and loading the film. Simple hold-up-to-the-light test is fine. While you're doing this, play with the light/dark control too to get an idea of how you can control your shutter speeds.
Look forward to the results! Have fun. Skorj.

Thanks!
Sadly, it does appear that my shutter is sticky, I have fiddled with it and filddled with it. It's the first time a polaroid shutter has been that way, so I'm bummed. I am thinking some exploratory surgery. And ideas?
Susan, thanks. That paticular site has been super interesting. I also think I've become a Land camera junky.

Don't worry about becoming a Polaroid Junkie :)
It only affects your health in a positive way (or at least makes you smile)
And since they're big, you usually limit your collection to a smaller number of cameras!
I don't know if you have an SX-70, if you do, check out the Serial Number calculator
http://www.rwhirled.com/landlist/sx70sn.htm
By using it, I found out that I have one that was "born" on December 19, 1974 during the A shift.
It's younger brother's birthday is on November 15, 1978 also during the A shift.
Just more useless fun stuff to know ;)
Hope your polaroid only needs a fresher set of batteries.
Enjoy
