Anyone got any specific tips for processing Pan F?

Taken what I'm hoping should be some nice shots in Scotland last week and don't want to fluff up the processing.

Would anyone fancy processing the film for me?  I'd obviously pay :)

You could throw it in some Rodinal 1:200 for a couple of days :-)

I currently use Aculux 3 (6 mins @ 20 degrees 1+9). FX39 also works (5.5 mins) but I prefer Aculux. Years ago I used to dev it in Perceptol stock (or maybe 1+1) but it reduced the speed which will be of no use to you if you've already exposed it at ISO50.

You could also have a look at the Massive Dev Chart here (http://www.digitaltruth.com/devchart.html). There's lots of suggested developers for PanF.

Is there an idiot's guide to which developer goes best with which film - assuming the film has been exposed as directed?

I think there's too much personal preference involved to say what's "best" for any film ... each combination has its own tonality, accutance and grain and it's probably an individual thing as to where you like those qualities to be.

Also, everyone's exposure, developing and printing vary in technique a bit, so only take recommended times as a starting point.  I usually find Ilford's stated times considerably too long for instance...

If your that worried about messing it up, why not expose another film and dev that first to make sure you're happy with the results before doing the important one. Alternatively, send it to Ilford maybe?
