I had a session with Dan Burkholder this week.
First, he's a great guy and a top notch instructor. Learned loads.
So if you ever get a chance to take a class or private with him----jump.
Second, big news!
For those of you who have been struggling with adapting the curves and calibrations to the Epson 2400--Dan's conquered this problem. Seems the ink density on the K3's are vastly different then ultrachrome. He's figured out the proper curves and you can implement them into the digital negative companion--for plat/pallad digital contact negs.
He's in Los Angeles this week and returning home next week. So rather than emailing him--stay tuned for updates on his website. http://www.danburkholder.com/

Susan, I'm soo envious of you, having a session with Dan Burkholder. I have his book on my desk to help out with my digital negatives. Currently, I'm doing my digital negatives using an cheap Epson R200 for my cyanotypes. One of these days I'll upgrade my printer but for now it's the cheapo one for me.

Absolutely---but we only made negs during the session--no prints.
Hopefully I'll find the time to make some plat/pall soon.
Need to locate a consistent light source first.
Might have a friend build one, but would prefer a plate burner if I can find one cheap.
