Last week I went out to test my "new" 100mm Isco lens. I really like it, just like the 50mm Isco I bought earlier. Maybe it's the Zeiss relationship that shines through.

Nice start Kai, that's what I like about M42 mount, so many interesting lenses to work with.
Mushroom season is coming to an end here, these are the last of them. We started getting some light frost a few mornings but so far no hard freeze. I have no idea what type of mushroom these are, too many that look similar to them. They came up in the same area as the others I photographed right after the others died off. I guess next year we'll see if I tracked spores all over the neighborhood.

Some more salt prints from me from a quick walk at Deal seafront, early last month.
There is still way more playing around to get a print I am fully happy with, but it an enjoyable expierence.
The last one is a scan of a Zebra dry pate which just isn't contrasty enough to print out as a salt print

Either way, they probably come from my lawn 😁

They're beige, up to 6 inches tall.

Then it's not the same, ours are only about 3 inches tall.
I always find it weird that there are so many varieties of mushrooms compared to most other plants. And yet there is comparatively very little documentation on them. We have a guy who comes to the bookstore every week and he's been looking for a book on mycology for years yet none pop-up on the used market.

I did my graduate work in an interdisciplinary molecular biology/botany/mycology lab and let me tell you there's a TON of research papers on fungi 🤣

They just don't make the botany section of most bookshops.
I guess most people just want to know which color petunia would look good in their flowerbeds...

We had some nice misty conditions in the forest last weekend. This one was taken with a Speed Graphic and Tmax 100, developed in XT-3 1:1.

I also specialized in botany and biocheimstry back at Uni, but also remember that the information on fungi was mostly papers or copied single chapters. There was very little available in terms of comprehensive books.
