Long weekend in the US. This is a sad post for me, my last picture of Rachael. She had been struggling for over a year with liver failure, you can tell in this photo she wasn’t feeling well. My wife and I have both had dogs most of our lives, this is the first time in over 30 years that either of us don’t have a dog or cat. It’s very lonely and strange not to have one in the house.

That's always a sad time. They become such a part of our lives that we can't not miss them.
Last time I lost a pet, I cried for a good two weeks.

Sorry to hear this Bryan. Dogs and cats become part of the family, and it's sad to see them pass.

Bryan,
I'm so sorry to hear about Rachel. She was such a lovely dog and I have enjoyed knowing her through your photos.

Just caught up with this.
Sorry to hear of your loss Bryan, dogs are such a real member of the family that when they depart it cuts so deep.
RIP Rachael.
