Maybe this will make the prices of the real ones go down. They are going for extortion prices on the auction sites.

I sure hope it will.
But so far I have what is probably a lifetime supply of them new in box... they got a load of them at the dollar store years ago for just a buck each...

Ah, those were the days! Now even plastic toy cameras are priced way too high. All the profit the market will tolerate.
That said, $30 seems reasonable for this particular camera. The best bargain, at least for US residents, is the Harman reusable camera with two 36exp rolls of film for $30 at B&H, and they have it with free shipping. The film alone would be at least $10.

Well folks, The Film Photography Project just sent an email that they now have these in their store for the $30 price. Ok for US residents I guess but probably prohibitively expensive for international shipping. I already have the Vivitar labeled version from maybe 10-12 years ago.

For the price, I would probably go with the reusable Harman camera with HP5 for the value.
I have one of those sets and it's not the greatest, but it is fun and on the slightly flimsy side of the scale, and easy to toss in a bag and just go.
I bought one when they first came out and below are two samples with it using the HP5 dunked in caffenol.
I was  having a grainy day of developing it appears, but yet...

Oh my goodness, viewing those on my iPad 2 at about a foot they are really soft. Didn’t realize how bad the lens was on that Harman camera. I have a couple of Fuji one use cameras picked up about 15 years ago loaded with color film. Only bought them because they were $3 each. Film long expired but I’m not equipped to develop C-41 and don’t want to send them off in the mail so they sit, unused. Maybe I should just shoot them and develop with the developer I have, HC-110, something might appear.

You're going to get some very brown negatives that's for sure.
