How wonderful are those plates. What a pity they can't be on general show somewhere.

Yeah, I know.
But what I find even more sad is that nobody manufactures a similar product nowadays.
I asked ilford about the possibility of making something like that again and they simply refused.
I'm still convinced that there would be a significant number of people who would be interested in making color slides without the hassle of dealing with E6 chemistry.

Maybe the remaining big names in photography are mainly concerned with large volume manufacture and sales...but there's still lots of scope for much smaller independent producers, as with some of the glass plate makers.
Anyway, I'm just going to peel a few potatoes and have a think...
It's reminded me that I have a couple of colour glass plates, from a Flea Market in Amsterdam years ago...not autochromes, but lovely regardless! I'll scan them next time they re-surface.

I personally was thinking that they could manufacture the base by first running it through an inkjet printer with UV ink before sending it off to the coating facilities.
