Title: neat older movie with a pinhole photographer in it
Post by: astrobeck on January 15, 2021, 03:17:13 PM
I must have been hiding under a rock when this was released, but just heard of it the other day.

Brazilian movie in Portuguese and nice to see some pinhole work being done in it.
It takes a while to get going, but it fits the time and theme really.

I had to watch it on Tubi

Brazilian movies don't really make it up here... probably too cold for them  ;D

But yeah, I just love the paint can pinhole camera.

Thanks for the link.  The glacial pace seems off-putting at the beginning, but it does fit the theme.  Definitely a must-see for any fans of magical reality.  There is a good, short review (https://www.npr.org/2012/05/31/153925327/found-memories-revealed-with-grace-and-patience) on the NPR site.
I'm wondering what non-photographers were able to understand about the pinhole process illustrated in the film.  I'm pretty sure the young woman didn't have an enlarger in her backpack, so I guess we have to assume the use of positive reversal paper.

Or contact prints from paper negatives.
