: a good day

after my diana Mini died the second time and I posted in another thread that I had tossed it in the bin...I actually dug it out of the trash to try and resuscitate it one last time....to no avail.
I really liked the wide 24mm lens on the dang thing...so I went shopping on line to find another one.
they aren't cheap! Seems the cult has found them and driven up prices...however, there was a make an offer auction for one along with two other cameras.
An Orion that uses 127 film and a ToLNe that uses 35mm.
All of the cameras were listed to have film in them...and guess what! I won the auction and took delivery of the cameras today!
There isn't much info on the ToLNe, except I did find an old archive message about one here on FW from back in 2008 when everyone was talking about the black bird fly. But really not much on them except they are hard to come by and expensive when they are found. At any rate, i have a replacement Diana Mini which seems to be in good shape and has an easier shutter than my original one.
I'll be using up the film in them and will post any cool stuff if and when that occurs.
Oh I paid 15 us dollars for the lot plus 15 for shipping. Not too shabby.
this makes up for a couple of duds i've bought over the years.

Looks like you scored.
It's funny because if I had a broken Diana Mini I would have tried to retrofit the lens on an M32 lens cap for my FED :)
And keep the tripod socket and cable release socket for other things...

It's the first time I hear of somebody getting a Tolne in their hands. They seem to be pretty rare.
I remember all the hoopla around them when they were announced, and then nothing...

I was also 100% expecting it to go "so I hacked out the lens and retrofitted it into my ____"  ;D

But that sounds like a great score Becky! What are you going to do with the ToLNe? Worth it to flip it and make a bit of cash?

Not sure about what to do with the ToLNe except finish the roll of film that it has in it and see how they turn out. The shutter seems a little sticky, but that may or may not be a problem. As soon as I have some results, I'll share...good bad or ugly.

In the meantime, the original broken Diana mini still sits on a shelf....It's really difficult for me to throw away a camera. I thought I could do it, but turns out I can't.
