Title: film found in an old box
Post by: Volker on September 25, 2015, 09:02:17 PM
These days i cleaned up some boxes. In one of them i found an old film cartridge.

i could not remember when i shoot this kind of film. So i opened the cartrige (in a changing bag :-) but did not expect anything because of the weight. it seems empty but inside there was a short piece of film (about 50cm).
I developed the film in rodinal 1+50 (iso25) and below you will find the results:

Shot 1988 in India (Jantar Mantar – observatory, New Delhi) with an old Zorki 1, which i bought in Mahabalipuram two weeks before). Not bad for a 28 year old forgotten film...

Super-cool set, Volker.  You must be chuffed.  I love the first two shots especially.

it was real surprise. i expected a blank film without a single frame.

@jojonas~
it was not difficult to remember. i was in india for three month with my wife, a mamiya rb67, 3 lenses, 2 backs, about 100 rolls of Ektachrome and a Gitzo tripod (the weather was really hot, the gear was heavy and i lost lots of kilos :-).
One week before we flew back i ran out of film and was unable to find rollfilm. First i used the 4,5x6 back (16 frames are better than 10), but that did not last for long. 35mm film was easy to find in Delhi, so i took the Zenit.

Great stuff.

I in fact have a few rolls of ORWO NP22 in the fridge. But unfortunately in canisters of the 35mm SL system. I don't have any cameras that can take them: http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/SL_System (http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/SL_System)

Couldn't you reload it into a 35 cannaster just tape it to the end and wind it on or load it in a reloadable cannaster

Bump to an oldish thread.

I love the structure. I just Googled Jantar Mantar observatory and it was built in 1724. Linky (http://"http://www.delhitourism.gov.in/delhitourism/tourist_place/jantar_mantar.jsp")
What a cool place and a great story.
