Well done Leon - in particular, that dockyards photo is one of the very few good things to come out of Chatham lately!

What I can't believe is that you actually think "luck" has anything at all to do with it!
And you started shooting in 2000? Blimey, you can really go off some people quickly...! ;)

Supernice dude !
Congratz!

awesome! congrats!

Re the whole 'started in 2000' thing; Leon did a deal with the devil down at the crossroads. It's all hoodoo and black magic...or maybe black and white magic (with some tasty toning).
Personally, I think the guy's overrated. Too many boats. Too much reliance on his pet. Not enough naked women. Never uses a Polaroid. Everything's in focus. Sheesh!
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ahhhh! Thanks Ed. Having been out shooting with Leon, that answers a lot of questions.
Why, for example, he insists on standing within a chalk pentacle when making an exposure. Also why there's so much slaughtering of chickens involved in his developer recipes (I always thought that was a bit odd for a vegetarian!). Also why we have on occasion taken shots from exactly the same place and he's come back with a glorious, beautifully-toned, fine-art print and I... more sort of haven't.
At the time I thought it was something to do with talent, hard work and skill but Ed's explanation is much more likely.
I'd go for a deal like that myself, but unfortunately in the northwest of England the devil is far too busy snarling up the traffic...
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Pah! I laugh in the face of talent and hardwork Nope, it's all down to a soul clinching deal with the goateed red fellow - you should hear my blues licks and I can run a mean myxolydian mode too.
did someone say monkey? gibber.
I think luck and some slightly pushy self promotion has had the most to do with it
::)
