Title: Help required
Post by: Chrissy on August 19, 2018, 03:34:35 PM
My husband had lots of film equipment and I am at a loss as to where to go to sell.  For example I have a Mannfrotto tripod and dolly.  I know he had an EOS camera too but I have not uncovered that yet.

Hi Chrissy.
We have a for sale room on the forum but it's available only to those who have a certain number of posts.
You can just post your ad on the main forum page and you'll see if there are any of us who are interested.

Without knowing where you are it's difficult to be specific but ebay is the obvious suggestion. Otherwise, local dealers or a local auction house. Most auction houses will take camera gear but ones which have specialist camera sales will probably get a better price. But don't be surprised if you can't sell it. There's so much film gear out there for sale, unless it's something unusual you might not get any interest at all.

And there's always KEH cameras.
I don't know how they work but I know that they buy used gear.

What I read on another forum is that their buying prices are quite low, less than half of their selling price. Of course they need to make a living. That is for you the most convenient solution. But selling direct you'll get more for your equipment.

At most stores where they sell used stuff,  a 50% markup is standard practice...
