Yes, I've got something to post this week .... my results from testing the Harman TiTAN 8x10 camera. To be available in the UK as from Sunday. A couple of these will be enlarged and on the ILFORD stand at Focus on Imaging next week. Video review to come soon ....

These are all on FP4+, dev'd in Pyrocat HD, contact printed on Ilford MGFB Warmtone dev'd in Harman warmtone developer. remakable tones and detail for a pinhole ... really.

Even-development in sheets of film this size is an issue though (first and second shots attest to this)....  :o

Wow Leon - really nice, did any of the Dungeness ones come out ok, any wobble issues.

Here is my first attempt at an Alt Process - an Argyrotype, very much at the beginning of the curve, but the light bits are light and the dark bits are dark, so a good starting point. Also my first 'wet' print in 12 years (the age of my daughter, no coincidence!). Did this one yesterday, hope to try again and get better at sensitising the paper tomorrow.

So how do you keep the insects away?

Great print - very nice - whether or not it's a first attempt!

What size is it?

It's very intimidating following these posts - and it's only Thursday!

I love the pinhole shots by Leon - beautiful.

Here's a shot on FP-3000B taken at a local state park. I'm finding I like the negatives much more than the positives. In this case I exposed to get a correct print and then over exposed the next shot by one stop. I didn't peel it apart until I got home over an hour later so it wouldn't get damaged in transit. It seems the negatives are sharper than the positives - this goes for FP-100C too.

A couple from me, still testing and learning my way with paper negatives. Was trying to see if my multicoated high contrast "modern" lens was exacerbating contrast issues I have been struggling to overcome.. Top pic is with a foamboard box camera with a Vivitar screw-on 2x tele-convertor lens. The bottom one with the MPP with a 135mm Xenar lens.

Kentmere VC paper, preflashed to a slight grey tone. Developed in week old, slightly refreshed Ilford Universal.

Edit: Leon, those pinhole images are amazing. No. 3 my favourite.

Superb stuff as usual. wow leon.... just wow. I have said it before I think the titan might be my in to large format. would love to see some results with direct positive paper though.

ed. I'm really digging the grindy grungey look to your shots as of late. I want in on this magic.

+ lovely work Donkey dave :-) nice to see on you on FWers. although slightly disappointed you didn't stick with your odd yet recognisable flickr moniker

guess what.... I DID SOME SHOOTING THIS WEEK! wahoo. also unearthed some old shots from fpp meet up 2012 in which I thought you appear dave.. however indiscernible to most.

yup, I find the same thing with the negatives being sharper. I shoot a lot of fp3000b on my mamiya rb. sadly I'm too impatient to wait til I get home to peel... so my negs always end up caked in crap and dust. clean usually gets the worst off but I never get results like this.

Love the paper negs a lot.

Anyway, I got firmly told by Coelyne of the Coelynes to take l***scapes, use the HAsselblad and stop messing about. I did. But it stresesd me so much I shan't be doing it again . :-\

BTW; Coelyne of the Coelynes and I will be giving a demo of cyanotype printing at the Barvas and Brue Community Hall here on the Isle of lewis on Saturday if anyone is passing by.

Fantastic images all around, this week, so far, Thom´s and Salvo´s images caught my eye, Thom´s third one, the portrait, and Salvo´s first, and he shoots with a Pentax 67 which is a big plus  ;)

I, as well as Ed, I am going back to roots and struggling to have one decent image taken with the modified Polaroid 110b which I am becoming little by little more familiar shooting handheld.

One fp3000b-45 shot taken with the Polaroid 110 handheld, this film is fantastic, what a pity only few boxes left... I have to compare it with the regular fp3000b and see the differences... oh and 1 4x5 film shot, also handheld with the Pola 110... kodak tmax 400 which I am having serious trouble to find out the right developing time, therefore I get almost translucent negatives  >:(

Lovely shots everyone! I just don't have the time to develop all that film here :(

Yes, I've got something to post this week .... my results from testing the Harman TiTAN 8x10 camera. To be available in the UK as from Sunday. A couple of these will be enlarged and on the ILFORD stand at Focus on Imaging next week. Video review to come soon ....

So Sunday you say. Where would one find one of these online then? Especially for delivery to outside of the UK (but I guess the EU shouldn't be much of a problem).

Moizak, those are great images. I've found preflashing to a slight gray tone, and using slightly exhausted developer, seems to work well, and also with develop-by-inspection, which is one reason why I'm reluctant to do paper negatives in my Jobo tank.

I'm going to have to do some paper negative this coming weekend. Thanks for the encouragement, keep up the great work.

Man, these are once again awesome pics! Kudos to everyone but some that caught my eye was the stuff from: Leon, D Dave, Ed (I will refrain from any 'painterly' comments haha), JPC, etc...

I have been working too hard and (playing too hard snowboarding). But I did manage to process some film from when we were down south at Xmas. I was playing with PanF+ for the first time in a long time. Shot with an OM2n with a 'beater' 1.8 lens.

I like the ones by Salvo playing tourist...lovely colors.  Makes me feel like I went along for the walk.

A homemade 4 x 5 pinhole shot sloshed in caffenol from me.  I found a horseshoe near this place today, so felt sure it was a sign to stick around and make a photo..

Leon - Stunning!!! How are you developing these? Tray?

Chris - I was using a Paterson rotary processor, but this gave a variety of uneven dev issues, so I switched to trays which was definitely the better option.

Quote
Wow Leon - really nice, did any of the Dungeness ones come out ok, any wobble issues

Dave - the dungeness stuff fell foul of the rotary processor dev probs. The wobbliness is actually much less of a problem than I originally thought. Just needs some shielding and allowing it to do its thing.

Not posted on the weekend thread for a while but having a sort through some negatives in between darkroom rebuild duties. A couple from my Holga

Leon, had similar problems with paterson rotary processor too, to the point I suffered a little rage and it met with an untimely death!  :o I now use a Jobo and the 2840 print drum with plenty of chemical. Got to get the chemical in fast though.

Stevesegz - I love them! Those are really beautiful.

These are from a roll which I took ages ago, at dusk in Brighton. The first roll of film I've developed myself! It went pretty well, apart from taking no less than 13 tries to get the silly film onto the reel. Practice makes perfect, I suppose.

It's nice to see you're getting the hang of processing them. They also look better tonality wise than the ones you had processed by a company.

To help in getting the film on the reel, I just notch the corners of the film with some safety scissors (sharp things and darkness don't mix well).
Also, depending on how you hold the film, it can make spooling it easier.

Sapata's color codes, Leon's LIFT, DD's chestnut leaves, Diane's pano, and LD's chimneys all make big statements in an impressive weekend.

I went back to the location of some of the pinhole shots this afternoon with my 5x4 'proper' camera to see how the shots look.  I think I prefer the pinholes.  All on hp5+ @ 200, dev'd in pyrocat, scanned negs.

Paul - I like the Crush shot and with a 20mm lens, you must have been in there close!

Strangely, we were waiting to cross the road to get the bus back to the park and ride at Trumpington (great name, eh?) when this protest march came past. The local Plod (constabulary) were trying to keep photographers (+ a few skinheads and supporters of the BNP, etc) away from the marchers. Thankfully, I had the 20mm on the camera and, remembering Capa's mantra of "if it isn't good enough, you probably weren't close enough" I just stepped in amongst it all. I'm not suggesting there's any great merit in the photo or that I have an ounce of Robert Capa's skill or bravery - but I'm not averse to a bit of argy-bargy either, having played on the front row of a scrum for a number of years. The police seemed rather amused to see me there but, despite the chanting, the march was pretty peaceful - only a handful of arrests. Actually, it was good to see a bit of political passion as our main party politicians are, for the most part, a bunch of self-serving, sound-bite issuing cowards that wouldn't know a cause worth fighting for if it slapped them in the face.
