to the Moon
« on: July 17, 2019, 02:48:24 PM »
seems fitting...
a "loonie" I made this morning by hand trimming a piece of Harmon Direct Positive photo paper and putting it in an old Sears KSX Super, (Ricoh) then holding it up the eyepiece of my telescope.
Developed in delta recipe caffenol.
It's hectic to do because it's a one at a time thing and the sky never waits, and the Moon just glides along...

That's wonderful. I think you should start this weekend's thread with that shot, it couldn't be more appropriate.

I tried photographing the moon several years ago using a 500mm lens with a 2X tele converter.  The damn thing kept moving.

Great photo, Becky. Possibly a good start to an astronomically-themed collaboration.....??

What a great shot! Would never have thought that DP paper would be fast enough to do that. If you would please, I'd be interested in technical details. You know, exposure time, telescope and eyepiece focal length. Very curious.

That's an excellent picture there.

I don't have any film pictures of the moon I could post but I'm now thinking I should give it a go next full moon using a 500mm mirror lens I've got with OM adaptor on its T-Mount, or maybe the Tair 300 from the Photosniper kit (should be safe if I stand outside the house in the dark with Photosniper in full pistol grip and shoulder stock assembly, right? right?).
