Title: Chainsaw Carving
Post by: Bryan on July 10, 2018, 08:08:22 PM
What to do on my day off in Oregon?  Go to a chainsaw carving contest of course.  I was heading out to the Oregon coast when I saw the signs for this competition in Reedsport, Oregon.  When I arrived they were just putting the finishing touches on the long competition and starting the quick carving competition.  I see chainsaw art all over the pacific northwest but this was my first competition.  It was interesting to watch them carving and I was impressed with the detail that went into some of it.  Just imagine the sound of chainsaws buzzing and the smell of cut wood and 2 cycle exhaust.

These were all shot with a Leica IIIf using a Summitar 5cm f/2 lens.  The film is expired Kodak Panatomic-X developed in beer.
