First roll of film through the Nikon F-301
« on: November 18, 2014, 11:05:05 PM »
These are some of the shots that I took with my newly bought Nikon F-301 camera to partner the Ai lenses that were given to me. The lenses in question are the Nikkor 35mm F2 Ai, Nikkor 50mm F1.4 Ai and Nikkor 135mm F2.8 Ai. Film is Kodak Ektar 100ISO. Shot are around Manchester. Four taken during a walk around on a Saturday, and one in the evening on the way home from the office.
I hope you like.  :D

Nice shots. I have the US version of the 501 and enjoy it. I like especially the second photo. It is iconic and abstract at the same time. It looks like some shots have some fall-off at the edges. Is that the case, or is it just my eyes?

Yes there is some fall-off, it was deliberate. I wanted to test the camera was working okay and secondly I wanted to shoot wide open as much as possible to see the performance of the lenses. Personally I rather like the fall-off and vignette in the images. Apart from the Abstract lines which was taken at F8(or was it F11? I must write it down)
Next roll will be used to try the lenses at their sweet spot of F4-F8 and see how tack sharp they are.  :)

I like the one with the tv, there's a shadowy figure in the reflection!

Love the one with the telly in it.  Obviously the new Nikon is getting some use.  Don't forget to bring the FE into work next week if you want me to see if it can be brought back to life....
