Hmm. It won't be long now before wet-plate photography starts to make economic sense again.
-
Right as I got my final paycheck, too...this is very discouraging. I only shoot Fuji but that might have to change.
-
double digit? as in $10 a roll? that's when i start looking at alternatives.
-
Eeeeek. Etc.

I think they're saying double-digit increases, so 10% or higher. As the man says "Eeeek".

Bad news indeed. I keep meaning to stock up but money spoils my plans. It just gets more difficult
-
.......the big question is.....can we afford to keep "wasting" film for much longer? :o :o :'(
Personally, I'd rather keep on shooting the films I like (but taking more care to ensure I get the shot as "right" as I can) than swapping to a cheaper alternative.
-
Yikes. Film is getting pricier and pricier. Not sure how much longer I'll be able to use it as frequently as I do. It's probably costing me 3k a year for film and processing, and you've seen some of my photos, they are not worth 3 grand :)

I'm moving to half-frame cameras and loading my film from bulk rolls. I think I can keep that up for a while.
Actually, you know, that's half true - for 35mm I am just going to go to bulk loading (and my pocket snap cameras are half frame). I'm quite happy using FP4 or HP5 or even Kentmere most of the time, and there is always eBay as well - I picked up a five pack of expired Velvia for £9 recently.

I'm lucky my freezer is still full of various C-41 films...
But my stock of B&W is rather low...
Just imagine a world with only Shanghai GP3 :o

One of the reasons I'm going to pay a visit to Mr. Radford this weekend in Glasgow...
-
The 'one' good thing about me having so little free time to shoot is it does really make too much difference to me at this stage. But I know that doesn't help the rest of you.
-
ah - thats not good news . . .
its just going to lead to more stockpiling and less
day to day sales ::)
might have a few extra quid this week to buy some more
film for the freezer ::)
-
We could all chip in together and buy our own silver mine? ;D

Sapata,
Actually I have this goose that lays golden eggs. Have been told that if I feed it enough weetabix it will sh!t silver instead. Shall we give it a try? Seems slightly more feasible than digging up asteroids. I mean, have you seen Alien for Chrissakes? The goose is alien free, I promise!

Our local commercial developer as hiked his colour processing rates by 50%. I was paying £2 for colour develop only, it's now £3!
