The joys of flea markets
« on: July 11, 2011, 12:57:40 AM »
Hey guys, just wanted to let you know how amazing flea markets and garage sales can be! This weekend alone I scored a:
Polaroid Pronto (Sears Special)
Bell and Howell Autoload Optronic Eye super 8 camera
Kodak Signet 80 with 50mm lens
Vivitar 28mm f/2.8 M42 mount
Auto Lentar 200mm f/3.5 M42 mount
and finally a set of wide and tele adaptors by Kaligar for a Kodak Instamatic
All for 28$  ;D

The reason I told you all this is because first off it is freakin' awesome and second because I actually don't need the Kaligar set. I paid like 2.50 for them. I don't want to sell them on EvilBay but if anyone here needs them just let me know and you can have them for the cost of shipping  :)  so just send me a message

And it you guys have any crazy summer yard sale storys do tell!

I think I'm three for three in the last three weekends or so:

  • A Canon AE-1 Program for $1 USD at a garage sale
  • A Vivitar Ultra Wide & Slim for free at a second-hand store (the clerk actually said, "Oh, you can have that.")
  • A well-loved Olympus XA-2 for $1 at a second-hand store, now with fresh light seals

The Canon and the Olympus have test rolls in them now. Enjoying the Vivitar a lot more than I had anticipated:

Today's score: 3/4 of a box of Ilford Multigrade FB (expired, but hopefully good pinhole fodder) and a Technal contact proof printer, both free.
