Meiji Jingu Classic Cars.
« on: January 13, 2014, 06:49:09 AM »
A bright winter Tokyo day, under the yellowing ginko trees, we sat and watched a slow procession of classic cars. All Ektar 100 from my Bronica S2...

Thanks! I shot one wide open for the tightest depth-of-field, and the other deliberately into the sun to flare out. I am happy with both too!

Great shots. This only reaffirms that my next trip up to the vintage races needs to include my Rolleiflex - I've shot plenty there before, but never medium format.
Any man who can see what he wants to get on film will usually find some way to get it;
and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

process wise........these have an air of cross processing? Is that correct?

The color here is I think a combination of the Ektar, the old Buroni lens, the yellow light through the ginko trees, no Kodak processing - just Fuji, and my scanning... A similar old camera produced a yellow tint on the same day too, but not as strong. Lucky combination! Skj.

I rather like the tail end of the car in the third picture, not sure what it is. The Toyota 2000gt stands out however, the nose is hardly pretty, but the rest is and it sure is rare - and a landmark car in it's day.

EDIT: I see now that the mystery car is another Skyline model from the early 1970's. Nice.
