I meant to post about this last week, but forgot to before I went off for 4 days in Blackpool at at punk festival (but that's a whole other story!).
A friend who lives down the road from me bought a Lomography Wide Whatever (I forget the name, but it's probably something a bit cool sounding) and he brought it over last Tuesday evening for us to have a tinker with. It's their camera that takes the Fujifilm Instax Wide format film and has a few nice features not available on most/all of Fuji's own Wide format cams. Leaving aside the price (yep, it's not cheap), I have to say I was impressed by it enough to want to get hold of one myself. Even features that at first seem silly (like different colour gels to put over the flash) kind of make sense after you've used them. It has a remote control function which was useful for group shots and there are a number of things you can do in bulb mode which are a lot of fun. It feels reasonably well built, but we'll see how well it deals with being taken round Europe in their camper this summer.
He bought the black one. It was £169. I think that's a lot of money. I think it's worth half that, but I'm not sure what I'm basing that on. I also think I might be buying one at some point....once my stocks of 100 series peel-apart get really low.
