Title: Cold War Spy Cameras...
Post by: AJShepherd on August 01, 2018, 12:40:39 PM
Today's Grauniad has this set of interesting stuff, especially like the ones hidden in cases and the like,

Wouldn't have thought the Zenit with the Tair 300 would have fetched much though, especially if it's missing the pistol grip and shoulder stock.

I personally kinda like the suit camera.
I don't wear double breasted suits but I love how the remote control works....

I know I've seen a variation of the briefcase camera in an old spy movie, just can't remember what movie.

A lot of spy movies locked on to the briefcase camera.
I think it's been in everything from old James Bonds to Get Smart (TV series), Mission Impossible (TV series), The man from UNCLE and so on...

I've seen the JPS fag packet camera before. Probably due to my day job.

Thought - what cameras do spies use today? Smart phone on a selfie stick? Who would look twice at that?

A lot of the document copy jobs is now done simply using USB sticks, so that relegated the minox to the closet.
And with all the CCTV cameras out there, I don't think that following people around the city has the same meaning as it once did.
