That is just about the worst film news I have heard in a looooong time. The only reason I ddin't mourn the loss of FP100B too much was because FP3000B was still being made. But no B+W pack film at all? That's verging on photographic catastrophy.

couldnt agree more  :'(

I know that it is not confirmed yet and these rumours are always popping up, but the source seems solid in this case.

Many people have tweeted fuji so will post an update if I get a reply.

I have also started petitioned the impossible project on flickr but no doubt they are bored of that request

and Ive stocked up but that is a different story

fingers crossed

even though i have a large stash (60+ packs), I continue to buy this fresh new stock of this film every few months and is the primary instant packfilm I shoot... maybe I need to call fuji japan to see what's up.

I don't shoot instant film but this news still makes me sad. One more avenue of photographic expression is going away.

It would not be the same but I wonder if there would be some way of quick, relatively speaking, 4X5 negative developing in the field. I'm not thinking about a Matthew Brady type horse drawn wagon here. Something a little more modern perhaps.

Although.......the horse and wagon would have a certain appeal I think.

The horse would have to have a good name too.....

From a bystander; "What's the horse's name?
Uh, what?
"The name...the horse's name!"
Oh, the horse,  His name is 'Ilford'.
Ilford? Waht kind of name is Ilford?
Photographer rolls eyes and asks if  the bystander would like to sit for a portrait.

Dunno for sure, my oldest stock was made in circa 2007 with an expire of 2009 and it works fine so far, but it has been in the fridge its entire life. Most of my packs are from this period with newer fresher ones added to the stash every quarter as I consumed the older film.

I'm surprised by this, I was expecting 3000b to outlast 100c film. Are folks no longer using them in industrial labs?

That's a bummer, I used to shoot 667 a lot when I was younger and shot indoors too without a flash with my Auto 100.

I hope Fuji would change it's mind.

Why is the B&W film more expensive than the color? I guess negative stock is custom made for the B&W?

It's probably inevitable that peel-apart will disappear in the near future, but I'll believe it when it actually happens. We've heard these rumors before, and it always seems to be from someone who knows someone, or supposedly someone got confirmation from Fuji, yet it's never been officially announced. It will happen sooner or later, but I'm not jumping into the freakout over nothing pit yet.

ouch, yes all our cameras have instantly devalued a little bit more...

not the hugest fan of 100c but I hope that caries on for a year or two so we have something fresh to buy, to keep this love of peel apart going for a few more years yet...

Does anybody remember Heinz Salad Cream being discontinued?

Sales increased massively as a result so they decided not to discontinue it at all. Clever bit of marketing probably.

Not saying this is happening here, but you never know.

After the fp100b catastrophe I decided it would not happen a second time, I bought 100 fp100c and 150 fp3000b packs, but I am afraid there is no space in the fridge which is already full with fp100b, 108, sepia...  :'(

The freaking out has already begun, because suddenly most everyone is sold out of the stuff. One ebay seller sold 39 10 packs in less that 24 hours. I've bought some for a decent price, pretty sure I probably have 15 or so packs somewhere already. I really need to stop buying Polaroid film, I have bunches of it now.

Interesting how 100B disappeared so quickly and how expensive the remaining packs cost. I'm constantly amazed at how much peel-apart Polaroid is still out there. They must have just made massive amounts of it because there doesn't seem to be a shortage, regardless of how much people want to overcharge for it calling it "rare". Cases still show up regularly on ebay. I try to not pay more than $9 or so bucks a pack. I think the last bunch I bought came out to $7.50 a pack.

I remember when nobody wanted ID-UV before Polaroid was discontinued. I bought a couple cases of it, came to less than $3 a pack.

I checked Amazon and B&H and planned to buy some in the morning. By the time I decided to actually buy - maybe 12 hours later, B&H was sold out, which meant that a lot of Amazon's listings were also out of stock. Other suppliers were selling at $13 or so. I checked at Adorama, which still had some as of last night, and bought 10 packs. I would have bought more but even 10 was a stretch for me on my budget. Hopefully I'll be able to build up a bit more stock before all is said and done.

Bugger.

I'd love to shoot more actual Polaroid film, but it's hard to find the film for the 100-type Land Cameras. I found 4 packs that weren't too expensive but they were all dried up. I see a lot of packs that are fresher but the sellers are charging stupid money for them. I have one pack in my fridge. One pack. *sigh* I should have revived that Land Camera a couple of years sooner.

It has been posted to a few photo blogs, so that may have been the cause as well perhaps speculators have also bought them.

I have a total of about 43 packs being delivered, my packs from B&H order is on the way. Not sure what is happening with the rest.

yeah I reckon once it all comes back into stock it'll become increasingly hard to buy and get even more pricey.

there does seem to be lots of peel apart on the USA ebay, the UK one less so and much more expensive...

I still dream of the day I find a case at a car boot sale!

That's nice that they are keeping the price down. Some places are overcharging, and a lot are out of stock. And still no official word from Fuji, just some emails from Fuji USA. All this nuttiness might be for nothing! I don't mind ordering some now though, can always stash more film. The site just says "The shipment has finished for 10.2 x 13.1cm[4 x 5 size]."

wow - I've been out of the loop for awhile.  This is awful news for us peel apart aficionados.  But as fuji prepares the worldwide launch of it's.... hmmm, retro looking instanx I'm not entirely surprised. And the prices.... I was buying 'dead stock' (1 month after exp date) for less than 9 USD a box. Just checked prices across many sites...it does not look good....

stocking up is a temp solution, but it looks like supporting both TIP and the new 55 project is more important now than ever....

Interesting - I bought 10 boxes just yesterday for $9.95 each. Now $10.95. I suppose the whole supply and demand thing is understandable, but if Fuji isn't raising its wholesale price then this isn't so cool for a reputable retailer...

A number of months ago 3000b were selling at $11 something because everyone else was at that price. I chose to buy some 100c instead at $8.5 as I needed more regular colour instant film, instead of the cases of weird expired polaroids.

I ordered a big bunch of packs in Adorama, 9.99$, they advised fp3000b is out of stock, but still the let my order go through. Ideally I will receive my order whenever stock is available..

Prices here (UK) are silly,  £15.95 (Ex. VAT and shipping) for one pack that's £25.68, or in US $ 41.32.

I got my stuff from FPP for around $10-11. Even with stiff shipping, it was infinitely less expensive than buying at home. Here a pack is about £25-30. But FPP is now empty of FP3000B as well. They await one more shipment over the New Year, and that will be the end of that.

Ugh!

My ten packs from Adorama are back ordered. They didn't say they were out of stock when I ordered and I didn't notice the message until now (it was sent 5 days ago). This is what I get for "sleeping on it." Last time Adorama had an order of mine on backorder, it took so long that they just cancelled the order. Doesn't mean this will happen now but I don't have high hopes.

I'm always a day late and a dollar short.  :-\

Got some from B&H before the price went up, and also got 10 packs from Continental Photo for $100 with free shipping. They emailed me asking if I wanted to cancel and I said "nope", so they shipped my order. Were probably bummed they didn't up the price. I'm not all that concerned about a shortage of film (just look at all the Type 108 on ebay), I'm more concerned with having to pay more for it as everyone starts getting greedy and tries to take advantage of the situation.

my 30 packs are here too - 4 days from B+H to the UK. I now have enough (can you have enough?) of the stuff with the stash I had already to last me a while, hopefully it stores well. the 100c seems to last forever. only issue ive seen so far with expired 3000b is the tabs sticking together and you can get round that if you are careful.

I with there was lots of 108 on the UK ebay. I think my friend in the states may have some parcels heading his way before he comes back to the UK next summer!

totally agree that lots of people will be buying it to sell it at a profit which sucks.
