Wow, $1000 for a box of 809 that's a year out-of-date?

And no company can figure out a way to make Polaroid profitable?

i know it's ridiculous. and pretty soon all of it will be overpriced. imagine paying $50-$75 for a pack of expired 600 that will come out all yellow and grainy.

sorry to say it but it makes me want to sell my stash....

I'm working on my ultimate 4x5 kit and the cash could from my polaroid stash could come in handy.

 >:( Yeah, it really sucks... I have been pondering selling off some of my lot. Better than just sitting on the stuff being too scared to use it! It's frustrating though...

I know the market is furiously burning right now... Might want to sell half and keep the other for playing. Probably would pay for a year's worth of film :)

I'm new but have used Polaroid in all its formats over the years.
Started a Pinhole project using Polaroid 80 and am trawling the net and friends to
find / buy film most of which is way out of date.
As far as I know Blend SX 70 is 600 by another name - with no image manipulation possibilities - and the people who are inflating the price know that - so Blend is not a film I would use.
So can we all club together and "buy" all the equipment of Polaroid now they don't need it?

Speaking of prices. Just got back from all the Walgreens in the area and scooped up every box on the shelf. Three stores. Usually priced at $27.99 a twin pack, got them for $22.99. Can't beat that with an ugly stick. I got 5 packs....plus 4 singles of 600. That is it for instant film at the local drug stores...even Walmart and Kmart. Gone. Head to Walgreens and see if you can grab the last batch. The cheapest the Spectra family will go online is $24.99. I'll hit that up next...

you can find 4-packs of 600 on officedepot.com for $40. also, staples online has id-uv on clearance for $9.60 for twin packs. i have like 40 packs of the stuff, or i'd get some....or maybe i will anyway. it will last 10 years in the fridge.

and freestyle has a new batch of sx-70 for $25 a pack! i bought some just as an investment.

Damn, didn't catch that from Freestyle. Out of stock now. Hopefully they'll get more. As far as Officedepot, yea seen that too before, but it's not available locally here and you can't purchase online....I don't think you can.

Hmm, tried doing that and when I got to checkout and them asking for store location...it tells me not available for pickup. I need to call them....

As far as the out of stock deal...to me, as it says, stock will be in from vendors on the 27, I thought that is the shipment and purchase already made??

odd, i type in my zip and it says okay and even free shipping. maybe there has to be a warehouse somewhere close.

at freestyle, it let me order it, so i did. i assume that when it is in stock, it will be charged and shipped! they take it off completely if they don't plan on having any to sell, like the 667 is off the site. odd that they don't sell 600 anymore. maybe got tired of dealing with it. or the markup from polaroid is so much that the profit margin is low.

Oh, you bastard! I just spent my allowance for the next year! It wouldn't ship to New Orleans, so I had it shipped to my mom in North Carolina and it went though.  ??? I guess this is some sort of location-specific thing? If anyone's having trouble, I'd suggest trying a different address to see if it might work.

And yeah- that SX-70 is MIGHTY tempting too... I need to stop coming here. You're going to get me in a lot of trouble. But, maybe with 1000 exposures sitting in the fridge, I won't be quite as worried about wasting shots... maybe it will finally give me that kick to get off my @$$ and work on some projects!

i don't worry too much about wasting the stuff. it's there to use and enjoy... i mean, i don't WASTE it, like take 20 pictures in a dark room, but i'll just keep using the stuff i have (and whatever i buy) until it's gone. not like i have any special high paying gigs i need to use it for... i just take it out and shoot.

Upside down indeed. I was in Tokyo a few weeks ago and went to a used camera show in Shibuya with Tommy Oshima...we were both bemused by the SX-70s that were being offered at US $250. That's crazy...here in the USA, you can find them at thrift stores for $5-20. Uh-mazin'...

I checked here in Canada: the few stores who still have some 600 still sell the dual packs for around 26$
