Film reminders
« on: March 19, 2023, 12:41:50 PM »
Does anyone in the UK know where I can get some film tab holders to stick to the back of cameras as a reminder which film I have in the camera. I have experimented with slide film holders but they are not really suitable.
I know that Cameradactyl in the US do them but no-one over here seems to.

Do you have just the film tabs or the whole box?
'cause if you have the full box and a neck strap on all the cameras, I know an origami trick that works very well and that is so easy to do.
Else, there is always 3d printing.
These things are also available on AliExpress.

I bought a bunch of these hot shoe covers and wrote on them with a paint pen the film types/speeds I use. Then put it in the hot shoe.

Or buy pairs of small self adhesive magnets. Stick one on the camera and one on the film pack end. These are really strong.

These pairs of magnetic strips work too.

I write on masking tape then stick it to the bottom of the camera.  Then, after I load the film into a developing tank, I transfer the tape to the tank.  That way I don’t accidentally leave it on the camera making me think there’s film in the camera.  I do the same with large format film holders.

Here's the link to the origami trick

Works very well and requires no tape or anything other than the cardboard box.
