July 1 to 4, 2022 Holiday Weekend
« on: July 01, 2022, 04:55:11 PM »
It's a dual Holiday weekend to kick off summer, Canada day today and US Independence Day on the 4th.

I posted a thread last December about a bulk roll of Kodak Spectrum Analysis film I picked up.
https://filmwasters.com/forum/index.php?topic=10338.0    In that thread Peter mentioned getting a black sun from solarization.  That made me think of a sculpture in Seattle called Black Sun by Isamu Noguchi.  I've been thinking about doing this photo since Peter mentioned that.  The sculpture has been there most of my life, I remember climbing on it when I was young.  Now that the sun has finally come out and I had an opportunity to go to Volunteer Park I was finally able to do it.  I have also been thinking about how the film would do with bright sun on a glass building.  The Conservatory at Volunteer park was a great place to try that.  You can see in the second shot that the upper glass part facing the sun is solarized along with the sky.  For each shot I bracket 3 or 4 exposures and choose the best, it's hard to predict how the exposures will turn out.

Wow!
That Crystal Palace looks really surreal.
This film would be fantastic for making album covers.

A couple more windmills from me on FP4 in HC110 (H) Linhof 5x4
I'm sure that I will move on from shooting windmills by the end of the summer but  the more I look for them in passing, the more I find.  I'm glad to keep it to SE England.

Any man who can see what he wants to get on film will usually find some way to get it;
and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

The weekend threads here keep delivering, huh? Glad to see it!

After what feels like an eternity, I finally got my hands on a holga 120 wpc. Here's some shots from the latest roll

Those Holga pinhole cameras are definitely surprisingly good.

Good shots everyone!
It's good to see Jojonas back in action too!

I had a hard computer crash last week, so am just now catching up.
This is a shot from Holbrook, Arizona from the weekend before last, but it is appropriate for my life right now. Poo
Nikon F 301, with arista in caffenol.
I don't have a way to dust my negs at the moment because not all of my photo programs are reloaded.
