Title: Then 2015 and Now 2024
Post by: astrobeck on February 20, 2024, 09:39:35 PM
Just for fun....
I went back to reshoot a spot that has graced our mainpage here for quite a few years.

It's changed a little bit, but you can compare and see the trees have changed and the backboard is gone plus a few other little things.
The 2015 version was shot with an old Ilford sporti, and the one from this past weekend was shot on my leaky Holga.
Enjoy!

Isn't that behind this Whiting Brothers gas station that I photographed in 2021?

That's the place.
The Station building is still in fairly good shape.
As it turns out, I stood fairly close to where you were...

Very cool! I especially like how the shrub to the right of the former basketball pole has thrived! 😁 Maybe we should swap out the homepage image, you know, to keep with the times 🤔

We definitely need to update the homepage image. I'm thinking we could maybe move away from this particular location for a while, but who knows...we may come back.

Yes we do need a new one. In the meantime, thanks for letting this photo stand as the front page shot for filmwasters.
A photo made with an English camera ( Ilford Sporti) with USA film (Kodak T Max) by a heinz 57 human of a place on an iconic USA road trip place (Route66).
