Has anyone else seen the movie? Showed in Ottawa this week, saw it last weekend - theatre was nearly full so pretty popular here. IMO it's a good movie, worth seeing and not purely because of the photography - John Maloof is an unusual individual as well.
Review are here: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/finding_vivian_maier/ (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/finding_vivian_maier/) and they are pretty good.
She was most certainly a "filmwaster" :)

It's not shown around here. All we get around here are big Hollywood blockbusters, expensive tickets, bad popcorn and sound that's way too loud...
I haven't been to a movie since Star Wars 1 came out just because of that.

I found the ONE theatre in Houston who shows indie films, and the LAST SHOWING is TODAY! At to make it worse, its at 2:30pm!!
And I get off at 3:30pm!!!

According to this site:
http://www.dvdreleases.org/documentary/finding-vivian-maier/ (http://www.dvdreleases.org/documentary/finding-vivian-maier/)
It should be out around July 2014.

I saw it about a month ago when it played here in Vancouver. I really enjoyed it. It was a good documentary, but I do question a bit of the way it was put together. Thats all I will say so I don't ruin anything for the people who have not seen it.

Not sure exactly where "around here" is for you but this link lists where it is showing: http://www.vivianmaier.com/film-finding-vivian-maier/ (http://www.vivianmaier.com/film-finding-vivian-maier/) .
And art critic Richard B. Woodward has written a nice short piece that discusses Maier's place (or lack of same) in the art history of photography: google "what does art look like site:wsj.com" without the " marks for the piece.
I found the link first at The Online Photographer.

I saw the prints in real life at a gallery showing last year in the city. She was quite talented

I've got tickets for Wednesday. It's playing in a 100+-year-old movie house in a town about an hour or so north of me. Looking forward to it.

I'm going to see whether it's making an appearance in the UK. As it isn't a CGI-fest aimed at kids or the hard of thinking, that's unlikely - unless there's an art-house cinema like The Curzon that is prepared to give it a run.
UPDATE:
As per the following Facebook page, the UK release date is set for 18th July 2014.

The film is now showing on Sky Arts HD channel in the UK:

If you can get access, it's well worth the watch.

I saw this documentary last August in a "cinema" in London.
It was the first time I saw a movie in a Digi cinema.
The movie was very nice.
